    Restart 97:03

    Goal conceded 97:12

Why Gillesphey tried to go and head the ball that was planted on Jones I have no idea. Let Lloyd deal with it and the ref probably blows up.

The space he vacated was exactly where their man ended up scoring from.
Because Gillesphey shouldn't be in the side. It should be Ramsey Jones and Bell.

I still maintain something happened at Wrexham that really started to shake the wheels.

Not too much surprises me in football anymore, but I was so absolutely, completely convinced that the ref was going to just blow the whistle as Pompey kicked off after our goal that I went and stuck the kettle on feeling pretty good about maintaining that gap between us and them in the table. And then… wow.
    I did almost the same.

Coventry got beaten at home tonight by a team we beat 3-0. If we can put a similar side out on Thursday to tonight we might get something from the game.

How we lost that I really don’t know ! Absolute sickener.

We just seem to want to turn every game into a scrappy affair and hope we grab a goal with no creativity at all.

only positive I take from tonight is JRC I thought he looked like a footballer. Miles battled all night but to little avail. If we don’t sign 3/4 starters in January I think we will go down as you can’t go into every game hoping to grind out a 1-0 result

Terrible performance and shocking way to throw away a point.

However we are literally only halfway through the season.  Not sure what everyone was expecting from this squad in a first season back in this ultra competitive league.

Really hope that Jones and the players have more bollocks and belief than some of our fans who have seemingly thrown up the white flag and accepted relegation after 23 games and 5 points off the bottom three with a game in hand.

Long way to go and whilst we need to be very active in the transfer window we can turn this bad patch around.

Portsmouth were awful, sheffield wednesday gone and there's other sides that will likely have a poor run.

We can pick up with a few results as not like we're getting smashed week in week out.  Need to stay behind the players and manager.  Long way to go and lots of points still there for the taking.

Grim to see people shitting themselves and crying that we're going down already. Have some back bone for Christ's sake.
After a run of good opponents we've recently played three of the worst. We lost against two despite them both being rubbish, and just managed to beat the other one. If we're relying on other teams having worse run, rather than us beating them, then that's a problem.

The performance was a long way from
being poor … there a lot of encouraging signs tonight …….. we should have had a pen when Knibbs was high kicked in the box but the ref was a disgrace second half .. we always knew there would be a problem with how long players would last , Bell Burke berry and Costello who looked leggy and think that cause lack of concentration for their goal from Bell …….. but as I said earlier much better performance all round tonight we can take lot of positives forward …

I watched that game. Ipswich actually wanted possession and tried to attack quickly when they had the ball. Bold strategy.

    No way…4-1 Coventry
Agreed they lost tonight at home so will be wanting to remedy that. Cant see where the next point is coming from.

Saw the second half but not the first.  Entertaining in a two bald men fighting over a comb sort of way. Two dreadful goals to concede.  At least one of the two teams on view tonight will go down if not both.   Only good thing is Norwich and Oxford both lost too. We are in a four team league with Pompey, Norwich and Oxford.  Two of those four will go down.  All four are rubbish.  Manager apparently picking names out of a hat now doesn’t bode well either.
  • We have enough good players to stay up and a manager that will make sure we do.

Lost my post in the mix up with the two post match threads.

Won’t bother writing it all again other than that we need to improve in possession and going forward. JRC looks like he can be part of that, and we need some good attacking footballers to join in January.

Huge transfer window ahead for NJ and the ownership.

Brown and smelly, we are currently neck deep in it and sinking.
  • So so so unprofessional it beggars belief need to see the goal again but sure it went through legs and Kaminski saw it late

I’m not ready to accept that we’re going down, and calling for Jones’ head seems nuts to me, but if we do go down then we’ll look at that second Pompey goal as one of the defining moments.
I feel the same, we’re still 5 points off the relegation spots but need to start picking points up. My worry is if we do get relegated, we could lose a lot of the fans that have returned and also those who have previously stuck with us in that shitpit of a league.

Two defensive errors that led to goals that should be rightfully criticized but there is a severe lack of goals in this team and we will go down if it’s not addressed. I don’t think it’s as simple as having the right players back from injury to play in Jones preferred system he needs to take a good look at the creative players we have and actually play to their strengths. We have a great defense but it’s not perfect they will make mistakes. Putting the pressure on them to attempt to keep clean sheets every match on the hope we can nick it is very unrealistic at this level.

Well we need one point per game from here on in to stay up. That looks difficult.

    Filth.
Another bottom 3 side has got 3 points against us.
    The relegation fight starts here.

Portsmouth weren't in the bottom three before the start of the night

I don't get people trying to blame Gillesphey or Kaminski for the goal, the blame lies either on all of the players as a collective, or it lays on the people in charge at the time, so Jones, his assistants, and Lloyd Jones as captain on the pitch at the time, because the complete lack of focus and attention at the end of the game was farcical

Got a funny feeling that afew of the players thought the ref was going to blow for time as well.

On a more positive note I thought JRC was brilliant and for the first time I’m genuinely questioning Jones decision making when it comes to player selection this season. How he hasn’t gotten a proper run out in this team is absurd.

Every game we have played this season has been a scrappy affair, we can not control a game for 90 Mins, particularly in midfield.

I don't think the injuries coming back will right the ship.

Needs to be some hard thinking in January about who really has made this step up and who hasn't.
