Terrible second half from us, and one that looked like the only outcome would’ve the inevitable draw!
Exceptionally poor to give up a 2-0 lead, albeit 2-1 at half time should have meant we hold control of the game and see it out. We decided to pick all the wrong options there.

midfield was weak with berry, JRC did well but average- it was a game that needed Anderson but he was totally dropped.
Are we going to keep sticking TC at LWB and accept that nothing positive is going to come of it- I just don’t get that madness!
Good goals from Kelman, who will be disappointed how it panned out, whilst Leaburn played out of his skin. Need to bin off Bree, Macca and the notion that TC can play LWB- why the total disregard of Laq?Very disappointing, and stark reminder how poor our squad is and how under equipped we are to be competitive in this division.

Chelsea up next, I’m current wanting us to be playing the kids and reserves - simply cannot risk any first team players

We're a bloody hard watch sometimes. This is supposed to be one of the best divisions in the world, and yet we've got players who can't control the ball in five attempts (Luke Berry) or pass to a teammate who's standing five yards away (pretty much the whole team second half).

Why did we go out and spend money on Reece Burke? We've seen this story time and time again. Don't sign injury-prone players.

Macca is way below this standard and has to go. He's proving that he can't even be a backup option at this level.

Good performance from Miles and two goals for Charlie. But we're nothing without our defensive solidity and due to personnel, we don't have it at the moment.

Seen the result, does not look good to throw away a 2-0 lead . We have now played three teams below us and have got just 1pt, that is relegation performance from the team.

I want to be positive but it’s hard not to be disappointed when we were up 2-0 at one point but at least it’s another point torwards safety. I am concerned at the amount of points dropped to our relegation scrap friends though. Of course this is the championship and everyone can beat anyone at any given moment but not beating teams near us in a relegation scrap doesn’t make me feel confident that we can beat the better teams above us on the schedule especially with these reoccurring defensive injuries.
I love Macca I really do but as long as we’re shoehorning in players at LWB he cannot be played at LCB we’ve conceded too many goals coming from that side. I also think Carey has been extremely underwhelming for like two months now and I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about it. Kelman coming into form in this second half of the season is so crucial for us and Leaburn has looked like a man possessed these past couple of days which are some positives.

Played 3 of the worst teams in this division and have come away with 1 point. Seem to have lost the same fight and grit we have had under Jones, and doesn't help that he himself is making some questionable decisions now. Hopefully January sees him take some advice from others and we make use of the loan market.

I still think we'll be fine but that'll be due to how poor those below us are.

Frustrating when you’re in the middle of a discussion in the match thread and it gets locked before you can post your reply!

Apparently you can’t dress it up or take positives from that. So here’s a few:

    - Kelman scored twice, he’s finding form

    - Leaburn once again aerially dominant for yet another game

    - Bree looks like he remembered how to cross a football

    - Jones and Bell still look quality

The major issue, which has been a problem for over two months and cost us 5+ points, is the LCB/LWB conundrum.

There is nothing to be done about it in the current moment apart from wait for reinforcements to arrive so we make do with the 5 points from our last 5 games and look forward to those reinforcements arriving.

It was vital we went in 2–0 at half-time. Once they pulled one back before the break, I had no confidence we’d be able to hold on.

Leaburn looked a handful tbf. His partnership with kelman is developing. Id take a point at blackburn. Would have liked to have seen fullah.

To be 2-0 up and not find a way to win against a side that shit, no excuses.

Even first half but finally got some luck with decisions. Second half was up there with the worst I’ve seen from us and it feels like we’ve stolen a point from 2-0 up. Really poor set of results against our relegation rivals but still a good gap in place

Disappointing not to hold out for the win given we were 2-0 up but at this point we're holding out until we get some reinforcements in. We need a LWB so badly. Can't risk Bell there, don't have anyone else at the moment. It wastes TC and it leaves us in trouble especially when Burke got injured. I do think it would have been better to bring Gough on and not leave our left side so exposed. Gillesphey just isn't at it unless there's plenty of protection around him. I think there's some overreactions on here though coming from how tepid we were second half and our lead, we needed to not lose this. It's a problem as well that both Burke and Ramsay are injury-prone and playing in the same spot. If you can say anything for Gillesphey it's that he's available. We need players in, that's the fact of it. A LWB is essential, another option in midfield and I'd like a pacy winger/striker more than a target man like Dykes. On the positive front, good to see Kelman doing what he was brought in to do

Well, I suppose that's that then.
Three consecutive must win away games and we've amassed just one point.
Looks like we're going to be relegated by 8 points  :D

A draw that feels like a loss but was in fact a draw that keeps them below us in the table.

Look, nobody said a Championship relegation battle would be easy or pretty. Today was certainly neither. It's going to be a slog for the next four months to stay in this division, and I think dropping three points total against Pompey and Blackburn could really come back to haunt us.

That being said, first half we looked good in stretches. Miles and Cov were everywhere. Kelman with a couple of good finishes. We really just needed to hold on until halftime. That first goal really hurt us. The second was always coming and you felt we'd need three to win, which is something this team just isn't going to be able to do very often.

Huge credit to all who traveled. I've tried traveling up north when it's snowing and it's miserable.

Punishment for Fullah filling in at LWB adequately and holding his position well against Birmingham away was not receiving a single minute since?

Disappointed that we failed to beat three teams below us over the past few weeks. Brum showed that three points were possible against Coventry. Three out of those four were away from home.

We're in the habit of dropping points, which have consequences later down the line.

Biggest question is that if we know LCB and LWB are costing us numerous games due to lack of quality in that area, why are we still persisting with a formation that relies heavily on those roles?
  • Only positives are Kelman goals, Leaburn is looking a handful.

Personally think Jones is to blame with this system he refuses to change and putting players in positions they just don’t suit.
This and replacing Burke with Gillesphey rather than Gough.

Maybe this is some weird plan to let relegation candidates fuck us over so that they keep their managers.

Carey’s refusal to play a forward pass today was also really worrying. At least twice he had the chance to release TC into an acre of space and failed to make the pass.

    Looks low on confidence.
He did play one forward pass but it was well overhit.

I'm not sure its lack of confidence, judging on how many times in the last few games he's tried to take on several players himself or chose to shoot when other options were available.

Gillesphy and TC left hand side is absolute suicide and I don’t understand how Jones can’t see that.

Gillesphy needs replacing THIS window as a priority.

Really fear for relegation now after this week we’ve had, as this was a huge month of games and we’ve fluffed ALL of them up.

Only way we stay up is if other teams fuck it up even more.

Absolutely fuming AGAIN at this bunch of spineless losers.

Definitely 2 points thrown away today. I’m amazed that literally everyone bar NJ can see playing Gillespie and TC on the left is a disaster. However a point away is decent so it is what it is.

Thanks for last season Macca but time to move on mate the Championship is a step to far I’m afraid

Thank fuck Christmas is over. It's probably lost on a lot of people, especially those who got their first laptop for Christmas, we played the best side in the league three days previously and got a draw, both sets of players looked out on their feet after that, then we have to travel to Blackburn. If ever there was a game of two halves, that was it, Charlton need additions to the squad for sure, and as soon as we lose key players the strength of the squad is found out, we have the numbers but not the quality in depth, once again losing Burke causes us to rejig the back line, not only disrupting our defence but our ball out, add that to the fatigue then you have the result. We have got to 29 points, get players of better quality in, give those who need it a rest and  get 21 more.

Disgraceful result after being 2 up, disgraceful.

They were so bad, even their fans were singing "how s**t must yous be, we're drawing 2-2"

Shame our team didn't seem to realise like most of our fans do. Jokers.

2 nil up away from home, against a relegation rival, on a cold sleet driven day, we should of been done and dusted. But no..... To come away with a point, in the end, was lucky. We need some serious additions this window.

Managed the game terribly after our penalty, they probably can’t believe their luck getting a point out of that, can I be the 1st to say TC tries hard and it was Charlie Methvens fault. Joking apart NJ. Made a couple of odd decisions today.

Not good enough, more points thrown away, again NJ has to do better with his subs, as soon as Gillesphy steps on the pitch we are in trouble!

Nah I was confident until I saw Gillesphey on the pitch... Then I was hopeful yet doubtful, more than confident.

That one is totally on Nathan Jones.  He is well in credit, but playing Gillesphey and TC on the left is fucking braindead. You either bring on Conor Gough or go 4 at the back... That was so obvious to everyone. TC shouldn't be playing LWB anyway but to have him being covered by Macaulay Gillesphey, who is a liability at the best of times, is a joke.

On the plus side Miles looked quality and Kelman had another good game. We desperately need to sign a lwb, cb cover, a box to box midfielder with a bit of creativity and another option as a striker

To be 2 nil up and them being that shit, especially the first half, and it being a relegation rival, it's unforgivable really.

We MUST beat the teams around us at the very least to stay up, people will say we've played well the last 3 games but we've got 2 points from it, and it should be 5 minimum
We played well against Cov, but we were distinctly average against Blackburn. But they started off piss poor and then we giftend them by bringing on the least convincing LCB in the league.
Bet Jones says we played well, he reckons we were great against Portsmouth in his post match interview
