Lloyd Jones post match. It’s less than a minute, for all his flaws Doc would have shown some leadership and spent at least a minute apologising without prompting

To be fair to Lloyd his interview with Mendez/Cawley was much more what I expected
  • Can someone name a source for the ‘Jones has lost the dressing room’ rumours?

Is it the same source as the last time he lost the dressing room when that wasn’t true?

A  good friend and supporter for over 40 years was told by an ex player on Tuesday evening who attends every home game.

Midfielder signed by Curbs and Gritty from Newcastle.

Not hard to work out who.

  • We've been substandard for a long time now. Nothing about the performance today was surprising. But Jones' apology to fans tells me we needed to be on the end of a rout for his eyes to be opened. Not sure what happens next, but at least we've had a confession, maybe matters will now be addressed.

Also, to suggest players aren’t trying is absolutely fucking ridiculous.

outclassed, yes. They’re not not trying. They’re just rudderless at the moment
    Bullshit. No way. Fucking rubbish.

That second half was littered with disgraceful examples of just that. It’s a derby. I want to see them charging at Millwall left right and centre.

Not pulling out of tackles. Lack of bothering to move to offer options, watching people ghost past them, not following up penalties.

It’s not fucking ridiculous and as fans we won’t put up for it in a local derby.

They embarrassed us and they embarrassed themselves

Still a Jones supporter but he’s trying my patience now with his stubbornness

Actually liked his post match interview and I think we might actually see a bit of a reaction / change - we have to.

I’m hopeful we can get a couple more bodies in this week.

I also still believe had we had Bell / Edwards for the last few months we’d be a good 10/12 points better off and not worried at all.

Those 2 injuries have killed the whole balance of the side.

There simply has to be a reaction to that display today though
But we knew the left side problem long before the window opened - they should have signed a left back on 2nd Jan, not a risky loan signing as we have done.

No excuses - piss poor planning

wait for the criticism for saying that, got it in the ear for suggesting this a by the end of the first week, other clubs seem to be able to have things sorted by start of the window, never us.

It’s all well and good sticking to your system but when you are playing a team with giants at the back who are very slow it seems ridiculous to try to keep lumping high balls which are their bread and butter
When we played them at home pace up front was giving them no end of problems. You can run rings around Cooper with pace but it’s a lot more difficult if you turn it into a wrestling match

As I asked @AberystwythAddick above, please name who you think wasn't trying.

I agree totally they were nearly all completely hopeless to various degrees but were they just inept compared to not trying?
  • Why nullify our best player, Campbell, at half time?

Shit set up, shit midfield and no left side. You get what you deserve.
Imagine if you could sign a fit LWB that could come in & play 90 mins straight off. No need to chop & change during the game and might give you a chance to win the match.

But you all felt it wasn't possible yo sign someone on Jan 1st so we had to wait 3 weeks to sign someone who could only play 45 mins.

I know I'm seen as some some of idiot.....but tell me I'm.wrong.

Usual ill informed drivel, ever tried to sign a player on Jan the 1st Golfie? Thought not, absolutely clueless!

Had a bereavement in my close family yesterday evening, so laid low today.

Stayed on this thread until the 2nd went in. Then thought better of taking more anguish, you can have too much you know?

It is, whatever was, hate this fixture.

They are an example of an established Championship side. We, unfortunately are pretenders and will get picked off.

How NJ sticks with his pets, I am getting steadily sicker of it by the week.

Need to give all things Charlton a rest, but just want to sign off by saying, well done to you lot who turned up today.  Shame Nigels team didn't.

Don't see any reason why we don't now change things up and maybe go for a 4231 next week, have Campbell and apter as out and out wingers and actually attack a game like we want to win it

The left side problem has been evident for months - it’s a scandal the club have done nothing to resolve that problem.

We need to strengthen in several areas, but the left side problem will cost us our place in this division.

In golfie's defence , isn't that failing to prepare & hence preparing to fail ?

Ir's not as though clubs don't know the date the transfer window opens....

The sources on here who have said he has fallen out with Doc and Apter have proven to be very reliable in numerous things.  The body language of TC every time he is moved to LB is clear for any fan watching to see.
Has he lost the dressing rooms I don't know, but it's pretty obvious there are some major issues.

The owners have let Jones and the fans down.
Signings either walking wounded or league one standard at best.
Not the owners but Rodwell. They said it as much on the interview.  They don’t want to spend big because they think it will cause disharmony.  Meanwhile Wrexham spend big and don’t appeared unsettled by it.

    Who’s ’taking a risk.’?

It looks to me 14 clubs had made 1 or more signings by the 2nd of the month.

Did you see the match today? The work rate was absolutely abysmal. Millwall had so many moments when their players had so much space and time on the ball that they couldn’t believe their luck. We, on the other hand, were closed down almost immediately.

Absolutely we were outclassed, but we were also outfought which is unacceptable.

I think it would be better to ask: Who was trying?

    TC... And maybe Clarke?

And I always keep in mind that there were people who thought Chris Gunter was trying. I mean... If you thought that, you've got no hope.

I can handle losing games but not in such a cowardly way. Other than TC in the first half, there was no bravery out there today. Most of our players didn't want the ball, panicked whenever they got it (worst culprit being JRC), and didn't want the physical side either.

For a local derby, there was not much edge to the game - no tough tackles, players butting heads, or sparks flying... Because we just didn't compete. We did not turn up. We did not want to be out there.

Well there is only one and he was signed in 2001and only played five games, I know his Dad, trust me unless you heard it first from those two gentlemen, then take it with a pinch of salt, it might be an opinion but they do not have access to the first team squad.

The players coming over to us at end and half arsed clapping after a defeat like that summed it all up. Emotions probably got the better of me and gave it back to them and then some but someone/something needs to give them a rocket up their arse.

No one will be able to tell me that Burke and Ramsay were giving 100% today. Half arsed is being polite
  • I like him, but if by some fluke chance we still play Millwall next season, I don’t want Kane Ramsay to even be in the country.

Two absolute shitshow performances this season
Never seen a player go down hill so quickly.

The entire team not following up the penalty

The entire midfield for not showing movement - being static is a lack of effort. The are professional footballers. They can run.

Anderson watching people go past him on the halfway line when it was 70/30 in his favour

Kelman offered as much movement as a statue. Moving is an effort not a skill.

Ramsay realising he wasn’t up for the fight so letting people go by the time the second half came around instead.

JRC showed a few moments when I was screaming at him to charge after someone and win the ball as they were coming through and he just stood there and watched them.

Dykes needed to move much more - and not just the time he was put through in goal.

Fullah is a young lad - but did he really come on with adrenaline surging through him and up for the battle? Not really.

The only ones in my eyes who can possibly be let off from the trying thing are TC (though like everyone he gave up at 3-0), Macca (he’s just not good enough), Chambers and Kaminski (made mistakes but a keeper doesn’t really show effort in the same way).

Who was it we missed out on Big Diddy ? They had a whole Friday to sort that one, although perhaps they thought that Josh Edwards would be back by the end of the month, don't tell they knew he was out long term then, 2nd January is a bank holiday in Scotland.

Oxford winning as well, we are in deep deep shit
I highly doubt we’ll give Leicester as good a game as Oxford have today. That’s a direct comparison.
Oxford scored after 4 minutes, then apparently had a seemingly good goal unfortunately ruled out, before scoring their second.
Can't see us scoring 2 or 3 next week somehow, as I doubt we keep a clean sheet.
  • Every player in red tried their best.  Their best just isn't good enough.  Not quick enough footballing brains, sufficient ability or mindset to compete with most teams over the course of the season.

We don't have one player like Azeez.  TC is light years away from that level and one dimensional by comparison and is our only creative outlet.

Let's be honest only Lloyd Jones  and Amari Bell consistently put in performances worthy of championship level, with Dykes and Fullah having potential.  The rest ARE trying and doing their best but just making up the numbers.

Actually I need to follow this up with further thoughts as to why this shite gets served up every time at Zampa Road.

We are soft as fuck. Gutless. From top to bottom. Look at some of the excuses being served up here - tbh mainly we are all furious at what we saw but can you imagine if Scum performed like that against West Ham? You think their fans would be ‘oh they tried bless them - they just weren’t good enough’

They leave nothing on the table when on the field of play.

Every single challenge in the air and on the ground is a personal battle that each player wants to win.

They never stop battling. They never stop running. I actually think they would have a run at staying up in the prem due to this spirit.

We are too soft. We as fans accept deficiencies in the above too easily.

Their players knew EXACTLY what it means to their fans from the start. And it showed.

Ours didn’t give a flying fuck.
