Just another game to this mob. Will they even be hurting after that?I can forgive lack of quality at times, but no excuse for lack of effort or arsehole.
Wankers.13 -
I’m feeling disproportionately negative and I’m sure I’ll see more sense tomorrow, like a lot of us. But what makes me laugh is Dykes is lambasted as an awful Championship player by the rest of the league, and he looks a step above every other forward we have.12

No point. People will just tell you to be patient & it’s atebetter getting the right player in for the last 15 matches than someone from jan 1st.Oh Eddie Youds... said:NO MORE UNFIT LOAN PLAYERS.
SPEND SOME FUCKING MONEY.
THIS SQUAD WILL NOT STAY UP.
Is that clear enough ladies & gentlemen? It really is that simple.3 -
That was like a cold shower. 1-0 flattered Charlton, albeit we were scrapping away and making the most of it up until half-time. 6-1 would have been a fair outcome. There wasn't much difference between the two squads in terms of experience, international honours etc. The difference looks increasingly like how Jones sets the team up: keep possession (which we did in the first half) + chase the ball + first time challenges + try and "nick" a goal. Other sides have a more sophisticated approach, as you'd expect at this level. In this case, Millwall looked significantly better, without having resources that are particularly superior. (They also played 3 recognizable strikers throughout the match.)
Should Jones go? I'm not sure. After today we could still end up with 52 points, if the remaining results reflect what we've managed so far. That could be enough. But you can't survive, long-term, in this division playing like this.1 -
Remember, we’ve a bottom three budget and inevitably means bottom three quality. What do we expect! If the owners want to do this sustainably we have to survive this season and probably next before we can grow that budget. We are going to get outplayed most games, now most championship teams have woken up from their slow start. Changing the manager would be madness.6

I have just cursed my old man for making me support Charlton. This result is going to take a while to get over. I keep saying to myself it's only football but that doesn't help.

Can't stand the man but would take him in a heartbeat if it meant he kept us up this season.mistrollingin62 said:Can we tempt Neil Warnock out of retirement.........................Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze0 -
The Fullah sub screwed us because he can only really play as a 10 or at a push on the wing but he doesn't have the bite needed for men's football yet. Once he's on the pitch you can't take him off though. If Chambers had to come off it should have been Clarke to LWB and Apter at RWB. You then have tactical flexibility and TC can stay high up the pitch and we have two wide outlets to stretch the pitch14

It amazes me that some still go into this fixture with a glimmer of hope. I don't get nervous anymore beforehand and I'm over it already. Watched it in a pub with probably 50% Millwall and 50% Charlton.
Thought the 1st half were played some pretty decent football and let in a complete dogshit goal (standard).
2nd half, absolute pony. At 2-0 I posted to say please keep it at 2-0 as its the best we could hope for. As if making a change of JRC for Godden would help ffs.
Anyway, who gives a shit. Our only hope is that we win our 6 pointers and their are 2 worse teams than us.5 -
We don't ask much of our boys but the one effing game you want them to stand up and give it a go they go and do this!
For me personally it's unforgivable, no passion, not guts, no idea!
Spend money we say.... But look what we've got so far in January... It's a joke.
Soon as I saw that lineup most lifers agreed it was total madness.... We can't all be wrong.
Something definitely feels off irrespective of the falling out rumours....
Jones out? Not sure that's going to work because there's not much to choose from but the players need to take some responsibility as they should be ashamed after today.
Cannot see another win unless there's a massive squad changes and different tactics.

Fair play to Jones in his post match interview, held his hands up and quite rightly apologised for that 'performance' and said it was on him. Didnt pull any punches for a change anyway. On the plus side i dont know any millwank fans, every cloud🤔2

Time for Jones to go. To play like we did in that second half against your local rivals. It’s also painfully clear he’s out of ideas, and it looks like the players aren’t interested in playing for him based on how pedestrian we were in the second half.I’ve held an optimistic/keep the faith line all season, but on today’s showing he’s done. If we keep setting up in the same conservative manner every week we’ll likely go down anyway, so I don’t see it as a gamble to give the reigns to someone else for the remainder and freshen it up, they may just respond.I will say it looks like we just don’t have the quality to score goals regardless, but we have to try something different for the remainder otherwise this is the tip of the iceberg. Based on how we’ve got more and more feeble going forward over the season, I don’t think I’d want him in charge again if we went down anyway
Hope he and the players come out and apologise for that, insult to all the fans who made the effort to go.10 -
An entirely predictable defeat, but one which doesn't shine NJ in a good light. Questionable starting lineup and bench, but it's the subs which were more concerning.
Bringing Fullah on at HT (moving Campbell back when he had been our best attacker), only to make 3 more subs 10 minutes later, with a total change of formation, it was hardly a surprise we looked disjointed. With Fullah now shunted to wide right, and looking completely lost.
Then at 2-0 taking JRC off, leaving us with Coventry all on his own and hopelessly outnumbered in midfield. Pointless having 3 strikers on the pitch, when we weren't creating anything.
Confusing why Coventry didn't start, even more confusing why Doc wasn't even on the bench. At 2-0 the game was gone, the body language was of a beaten team, the last thing we needed was to go gung-ho and chase the game.
TC can hold his head up, he was the one player who carried a threat. Dykes and Clarke did ok.
If Chambers genuinely can't play a full 90, then it's crazy to wait 3 weeks to sign a LB, and then sign an unfit one.

Imagine if you could sign a fit LWB that could come in & play 90 mins straight off. No need to chop & change during the game and might give you a chance to win the match.Charlton and on said:Why nullify our best player, Campbell, at half time?
Shit set up, shit midfield and no left side. You get what you deserve.
But you all felt it wasn't possible yo sign someone on Jan 1st so we had to wait 3 weeks to sign someone who could only play 45 mins.
I know I'm seen as some some of idiot.....but tell me I'm.wrong.

It’s hard to see it through anything other than angry eyes at the moment.
We know our budget is not huge (doesn’t mean it was spent well this summer).
We know Millwall are categorically better than us.
But here’s the thing.
Terrible decision making on line up and subs.
And worst of all?
They didn’t even bother trying in the second half. I won’t have anyone suggest otherwise and I can’t have that.
Thats nothing to do with budget or skills of the other team.Didn’t even bother6 -
To make matters worse I’m doing dry January and sticking at it!3

Chambers looked good. But wtf do you spend weeks knowing you need a lwb then sign an unfit one?
Madnessyeah not sure what the Chambers bashing is for. He made a couple of fluffs, but for a player bought in just a few days ago, and supposedly without much match fitness, he did pretty good. Passing was (mostly) decent, didn't seem afraid to stick a foot in and, most importantly, freed Campbell up to see the first half performance that he put in, which was excellent.18 -

Burke did his best to out-shit Ramsay. Absolutely woeful performances from those two.5

No fight, no quality and a fucking clueless performance. Why take off Carey and leave on that Blackburn reject. He offers nothing and has had one good game since he joined. Thought the Liverpool lad did ok first half and should have given him more minutes. Gillesphy should never play again for us as he just ain’t good enough. I love Jones but now I doubting him. He played the wrong team against Derby and today was just embarrassing. Jones is too stubborn and thinks he is always right. Think he has to go now before it is too late.2

Not sure this Charlton team have what it takes to stay up. Deficiencies all over the pitch. Manager who every season goes through a period of wearing blinkers. Unless this week brings in some genuine quality then I think we’ll be back down with the dead men next season.7

Mate he’s not ready, a couple of ok cameos, but this is championship football and he looked like a boy and soon lost confidence in less than a half of football,we need to stay up and it’s needs to be men to do it, they ragdolled us today.fenaddick said:The Fullah sub screwed us because he can only really play as a 10 or at a push on the wing but he doesn't have the bite needed for men's football yet. Good chance that we will be two leagues apart next season and the gap looked like that today. Really disappointing show today.3

Getting rid of Jones now would be mad, but whether we stay in this division or not, massive changes will be needed.
This result is further proof that our squad is not good enough - knee jerk actions will not help, but come the summer, the owners will need to decide what their true ambitions are for our club - if they can’t or won’t invest more, then we all know what will happen.
I doubt if NJ is the longer term solution, but we have to remember where we were 15 months ago.
He was very honest with his post match interview, but can we turn this around with this group?
In my view, i cant see how we will get another 20 points this season as teams are battering us.

If he's so sorry then there has to be a genuine actual reaction against Leicester (if he's still here)fenaddick said:5
