Can't argue that we are lacking leadership, especially after Saturday. I have also spent the last five plus games saying several times to myself / anyone around me that if Jones goes down injured then we are basically nailed on for relegation. So having sensible backup there seems like smart and necessary business to me.
Would also take the legs comments with a pinch of salt. We don't necessarily set up in the same way defensively as other teams and he might not need to be the quickest (especially if in as cover for Jones at the central spot). Also I could be wrong but I don't think Wrexham's defensive disaster class at the start of the season began and ended with Coady in the team - he definitely contributed but I'm pretty sure they were highly leaky for a while after he came out.4 -

The question is is this Roger Johnson v1 or Roger Johnson v2? When we signed Johnson in January 2015 he was the same age as Coady is now. He hadn't played a game since March 2014. He was a punchline; Roger the Relegator, the bloke who turned up to training drunk, had on-field fall outs with his teams mates and didn't even have a squad number for Championship Wolves. He then proceeded to be really good for us in the Championship, helped us win enough games to stay up comfortably including 3 clean sheet wins in his first 4 games. Before that we'd kept 3 clean sheets in 20 games. He was a brilliant signing for that 6 month period, made a huge difference to our defence with his experience despite us being told his legs had gone and he was useless. We let him go at the end of the season having done the job we brought him in to do.And then a year later we panicked again, brought him back from his 6 month spell in India but this time on a longer deal and watched him be absolutely beyond past it as we went down. His first two games were 5-0 and 6-0 losses and he was dropped until he was brought back for 2-1 and 4-3 losses. In the 4 games he played we conceded 17 goals. Day one of L1 he started on a Charlton fan who expressed that he didn't really like us losing against Bury, was rightly dropped and proceeded to play 1 further minute of league football in December before being quietly released at the end of another terrible season.So we just have to pray that we've got Coady the right side of his decline. Was Wrexham the wrong place for a player who was probably brought in more with his charisma and ability to talk in front of a camera in mind than his football? Does he have something to prove now and will show that he can still play at this level or is he done being a top player? I guess we'll see but I'm praying for a Roger v1 situation.

Leicester guy on Cawley's latest pod didn't paint the greatest picture. Played far less football for Leicester than I realised over the last 2 seasons. Leicester fans referring to him being a podcaster rather than a footballer. Brings plenty of experience and leadership. Just hope he brings his other footballing qualities.
On the plus side he said hello to me whilst in the gym on holiday!1 -

The legs have gone thing, seems to him being cooked for pace by Rumarn Burrell against QPR, which just a bit harsh, as we got ripped for pace by QPR a couple of weeks later.3

I think the leadership aspect will also be a replacement for Docherty going, assuming we manage to bring in a CM.1 -
Lots of comments that his legs have gone or going - but equally that he’s got experience and is a leader.Think we need the brains rather than the brawn right now. If he can teach his teammates to use their noggin and what leadership means we might be on to something as he can do that both on and off the pitch.4

Obviously, we need help on the pitch with fit and able players. But, his skills could be great for us just in building up our defence. We look so disorganised these days, and hopefully he can come along and improve that with how we could set up more effectively.I hope he's fit and ready to go for the run-in. I like that he wasn't willing to sit and do nothing at Wrexham for the next few months, but wants to play. He certainly won't want a Championship relegation in his latter days of career.1

I genuinely don't get the people writing him off after playing 5 games with new teammates, in a team new to the Championship, at the start of the season.
Let's wait and see what he does here, because in previous seasons he's played at the top level, got promoted out of this division with 2 different clubs and won 10 caps for England7 -
