Michail Antonio (not) set to sign (pg 21)

Maybe FLW owners will realise that taking such an angle of mostly negative & irritant stories on our club, doesn’t make them any money / makes much less). Maybe FLW will try a different approach or put someone more positive/ Charlton supporter in charge of the output.Off_it said:

Football League World mostly runs negative, click bait, Charlton stories, aimed to irritate from perspective of someone who doesn’t like our Club. Best steered clear off imo. Don’t click on, encourage them or add to their income stream.Off_it said:
The chap in the article also says we're "safe". Maths clearly not his strong point.king addick said:https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/charlton-athletic-warned-against-michail-antonio-transfer-would-be-a-waste-of-wages/
Chap in the article says he was rejected by Leicester. Was that that the case?Until then f*** ‘em (football league world) don’t engage / ignore / don’t click. Save yourself time & engage with more positive Charlton media. Life’s too short for FLW BS.On with Michail Antonio. If he can positively contribute to Charlton staying up, is a good character, trains hard & helps younger strikers at the club to learn - could be a good move. Basically needs to be opposite of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s time at Charlton.3 -
He's been set to sign for over a week now.
The injury can't be fully healed enough to play imo.0 -
The rumour began 4 days ago, how long is a week where you are?jimmymelrose said:He's been set to sign for over a week now.

Ok so he hasn’t as yet put pen to paper but we know he’s been training with us so my question is does anyone know if he’s still training with us ? I’d say that’s a crucial point because every day he’s not getting fitter is a day wasted should he eventually sign.0
-
Why would he stop training with us if he still wanted to sign? You think Nathan Jones is going to accept that and still try to sign him? Much more likely he reacts in a similar manner to how he did last WednesdayShootersHillGuru said:Ok so he hasn’t as yet put pen to paper but we know he’s been training with us so my question is does anyone know if he’s still training with us ? Calm down.
He might sign, he might not.
There is no rush as he's out of contract.
When he's proven his fitness and when he and the club have agreed terms he'll sign.
Or he won't show that he's ready or won't agree terms and he won't sign.

Read elsewhere that apparently Antonio refused a PAYP type of deal with West Ham last year. I’m guessing if that’s true, it would have been for more money than we would be able to offer. Perhaps the issue is now regarding money. You wouldn’t think he’d be short of a few bob and an even significant reduction in wages would be a sticking point but who knows. As for why would he stop training with us. Again, do we know if he has or is still rocking up at Sparrows ?fenaddick said:

What did some of you do before the internet, if you heard something was going to occur and then didn't happen within 24 hours? Spontaneously combust? The "I want it now" culture is disgusting18

Same people moaning he hasn't signed after 4 days of rumours are same people who will moan if we signed him quickly and he gets injured first game and out for season.sam3110 said:What did some of you do before the internet, if you heard something was going to occur and then didn't happen within 24 hours? Look, as soon as he's got the energy to pick up the pen, he will sign!2

I should think if we weren't signing him down to fitness would have heard by now.
I can only imagine the kind of figures he's asking for when/if he does get on the pitch!0 -
Not sure it's money that is the issue. I'm sure its more about fitness and readiness to play. My opinion is he would like to get back playing to prove to himself, Jamaica and Premier league teams that he can still do it and earn the chance to sign for a club in the summer - taking a short-term contract with Charlton until the end of the season would give hime the chance to show what he can (or can't) do.carly burn said:I should think if we weren't signing him down to fitness would have heard by now.

I’m being slightly mischievous here but if that’s true and was his sole driver then he’d be prepared to play for peanuts. Every week that passes he doesn’t play or at least is available for selection would be a week lost in achieving his goal. If he doesn’t get fixed up with a club soon this season will slip away from him. He’ll miss out on any chance of The World Cup and he’ll be 36 I’m March. Much more difficult for him to get a club next season. He needs to get out there and showcase that he can still offer something. I’d suggest that time is very much of the essence here.CafcWest said:
