The fact that Brighton were interested would sound promising.
It does seems a wild claim to say the best striker CAFC has produced in 20 years until I realized that Defoe left 27 years ago plus Lisbie is a tad over 20 years.
Other than Kanu and Leaburn we haven't 'produced' too many strikers ?
Karlan Grant is a forward who was and even now will be seen on either wing and going down the middle which we have seen in both Cheltenham and Derby matches. A versatile forward rather than just a striker.
Ademola Lookman came to Charlton at 16 so still qualified as an academy player so we can claim to have produced him on his journey from Waterloo boys team who made the long trips in the Tandridge league.
If Mbick has a career as good as Lookman it will be brilliant for him and CAFC, probably more for the multi millions he brings to us rather than many Games in our 1st team.
We need to get 5 million + add ons for one of our ex academy boys soon to make the outlay worth it.
If Leaburn and TC can play like they have started this season then we need Tyreece to sign the new contract ASAP with the escape clause being set at a higher level than 5 million because he may just make the big time.

He can create goals himself
provided this injury hasn’t damaged him he can be the real deal. He needs a bit of time and patience to get fully fit
Brighton initially offered £3m to take the piss. £3m for a player in L2 is unheard of but we got them to £5m because they can clearly see the potential and they are the absolute masters of talent spotting over the last 10 years or so.
if he can get even a few goals in the Championship he’s in the £10m bracket because of his age, size and the fact he is English. We had to hold on to him because this boy can fund the academy for many years when he does go if we can get it done properly.A good comparison is Brian Madjo at Villa. They paid £10m and he’s scored 2 goals for Metz B team and that’s it. He may be younger but the similarities are there to see - Mbick could easily be “that guy”45 -

There's no such thing as a free hit in league football, but Saturday is about as close as it gets, I guess if we lose 7-0 there could be some permissible hair-tearing0

Happy days, hopefully Mbick makes the step up as he has tremendous potential and Kelman improves on his 7 goals. You could have Haaland in our team though, but without service he would struggle.fenaddick said:

Even in that case, its still better than last season where double up on Campbell meant everything was left to no one at all. Grant has sixtyish Championship goals, not someone most teams will just ignore to focus on TC.shine166 said:

There is also Alli to add to the equation, and with Knibbs fit again and Ouma to come in you’ve got those two plus Carey (who got 8 goals last season even with burnout) to bring more danger from midfield compared to Coventry and Docherty who were great defensively but limited attackers.
Maybe it doesn't work out perfectly but purely in terms of numbers and options we have more about us than last season IF we can use it properly - and with Mbick and Kelman to return that means we will have more options not less.4 -
This isn't May, with NJ, Chapple and Rodwell thinking we need a new No 1 keeper, and looking for the best keepers out there, within a decided budget. Lots of options, conversations with tens of agents every day.
This is August, when the No 1 keeper has decided (for one reason or another) that he wants a move, and we have 2 weeks to find a replacement, when many of the keepers we could have targeted are already signed up. Okonkwo might be who we would have targeted if this was May, but he might be the best option now.11 -

The relegated sides are usually a bit of a shambles early in the season, as the transfer business is still going on, and shifting out £30m players on £80k a week wages tends to take time.
I expect them to do major business in the next 2 weeks, then get better as the new players integrate.13 -

Kaminski situation is frustrating, as much as I don't particularly rate him, it does put us in a difficult situation.
He signed a contract knowing his family wouldn't be here and without knowing his personal life, you just don't make that decision on a whim so I think he must have had doubts before but decided to take the risk.
This is where players have double standards, they expect to earn good money. Demand moves when they want to, throw huffs if they don't play as much as they think they deserve, refuse to move if a club decides to move on and they don't like it, perform below expectations and show little resilience. So frustrating, perform and you have no problems. Show up every day and earn your money with a good attitude, or if you're not happy then you have to move that works for both yourself AND the club but don't just be a dick.
