It's a weird one , they effectively swapped keepers with Hull sending Pandur up there and Butland coming the other way , now Butland has had arm surgery.

I've had a look. Every Premier League side wants to have three keepers available - Liverpool actually had to use theirs last season - so you're looking at 4th keepers or kids. Arsenal have Setford but apparently he's set for a loan to Las Palmas. Villa only have two keepers and their best youth keeper spent last season in the Spanish third division. Brighton have Steven Hall who is a 21 year old Australian u23, don't know if he's any good. Chelsea are usually good for stockpiled players, there's Teddy Sharman-Lowe who spent half of last season on loan at Bolton but doesn't appear to be ready for the step up, same with Slonina. 

Joe Whitworth at Palace must be looking for a loan, spent the last two seasons on loan at Exeter in L1 and was relegated. His stats don't make for bad reading and his distribution is good but he's very small for a keeper, only 6ft, and you wonder if he's physically up to the Championship

Ipswich have 5 keepers so you'd imagine there's some possibility there. Kjell Scherpen will be number one and Kayne van Oeverlen is apparently off to Valencia so between Alex Palmer, Christian Walton and old friend David Button something presumably as to give. Button is 37 and probably there just to help out with training so it's not clear if Palmer or Walton are available.

At Liverpool Vitezslav Jaros went on loan to Ajax last season before injuring his knee in February so presumably still rehabbing that and Harvey Davies spent last season on loan in L2. Dermot Mee at Man Utd is 23 years old but doesn't seem to have played a league game since 2022 where he made 4 appearances for Altrincham. Newcastle have 4 keepers but Mark Gillespie appears to be some kind of mascot and hasn't played a game since 2020. 

That's about it really. Realistically you're looking at Sharman-Lowe, Slonina and Whitworth as possible young PL keepers, none of which have played at this level or really set the world on fire at L1 level. Ipswich might decide to let Palmer or Walton go but I suspect they will want to keep both so it really doesn't look like there's much sat around at PL clubs at the moment

I think Kaminski showed against Reading how bothered he is. I’d rather Nathan himself in goal.

To be fair I don’t think Okonkwo would be classed as a punt. He played most games for a team near the top of The Championship last season. As to him being better than what we have already is another conversation but certainly not a punt.

Our entire side looked unbothered against Reading. By that logic we should never have given a contract extension to Lloyd Jones

According to ClintonAyooye from Foot Mercato, Charlton have contacted Wrexham over a loan move for Arthur Okonkwo, but Wrexham would prefer a sale. Leicester are also interested permanently, but Okonkwo has apparently “made Charlton his priority”.

It would be massive if this is true, the fact that Okonkwo "prioritises Charlton" would be a big positive.

Arthur Okonkwo is expected to leave Wrexham before the end of the summer transfer window. According to our information, the Welsh club – currently playing in the Championship – has informed the 24-year-old Nigerian goalkeeper that he is free to find a new club. While the club, owned by actor Ryan Reynolds, would prefer a sale, as he is entering the final year of his contract, a loan move has not been completely ruled out.

Charlton, another English Championship club, has already made a move to sign the Nigerian international (2 caps). The London club has contacted Wrexham and offered a loan, but the Welsh side is trying to negotiate a permanent transfer for their goalkeeper. Leicester City has also inquired, but the player has made Charlton his priority . He made it very clear, and whilst he wanted to be with us he was average at best, will be a result for us to offload him .

The Ipswich situation could change if they sign Nick Pope. Walton has connections to Nathan.

We only have so many ESC spaces. Sichenje and Ouma use up two, Mesík probably makes it 3. That gives us 1 space left and the club might want to leave that open for next summer. There's a chance Ouma might qualify for a GBE given his European games but I wouldn't be sure

Onkonkwo on a long term perm I think we should be all over. If it's a 1 year loan I reckon we could potentially be better off with an experienced loan. He is very young for a keeper and will get better
