Oh I agree but would just make it seem a tad more believable him being a free agent.AberystwythAddick said:

He’s a free agent. I’d assume wages would be stupidly high but not as unrealistic if he’s a free agent.kidbrookeaddick said:OGC Nice players with guy in name..... Tanguy Ndombele.... Yeah that ain't happening 😂0 -
But that's all besides the point, we aren't spending several million on loan fees, regardless.SouthLincsAddick said:
Prem league u21s will be on at least 30k a week, if their parent clubs want 50% of the wages covered they’d be one of the highest paid players in the club, that’s a lot of budget to blow on an unproven but skilful player who’s had limited first team experience. We picked up more bargains in January from Championship clubs who had in their minds had recruitment failures and money to burn. Coady, and Dykes must’ve been on and around £30k a week but at least had Championship experience. We only picked up Bree because his face didn’t fit, it’s rare to get someone of that quality and experience in the summer.sam3110 said:Several million on a loan fee? Who are we loaning in, Rafael Leao?!
Even the example you gave, 15k a week for a year, is 780k, and that's wages, not a loan fee.2 -

It's simple really: if we don't pay enough big fees then we're not paying the going rate for Championship players and we're going to have a bad season. If we do pay a big fee then that's good, but then it will be too big a fee for the player it is and people will complain it's another Apter/Olaofe situation and say Jones shouldn't be allowed near the money again and we're going to have a bad season. If we get a good deal on a seemingly good player then questions will be asked about why that player was available for such a low price and we're going to have a bad season. The important thing is to always be complaining about whatever's happening and then add the caveat 'I'd love it if I'm wrong' to avoid having to really take ownership of your negativity. You can repeat this infinitely until the oceans rise and put us all out of our miseryGribbo said:
I wonder what people consider to be a decent fee, assuming it means a lot of dough, rather than paying a good price for a player i.e - Under market value?Redhenry said:I still think we may surprise some with a couple of decent fees for players. Finger crossed, WIOTOS2 -

Mark Sykes has signed for Millwall. Surprised he’s got that good a move1

Semi related as they have some good players. Oxford have been placed under a transfer embargo as they can’t meet L1 financial rules. Would imagine they need a few sales to balance the books

This is so weird, as I'm pretty sure this week I saw that they had received the thumbs up from the local authority to start building a new stadium.fenaddick said:Semi related as they have some good players. BDK also known as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Rader0

Realistic aspiration is a bottom 5 budget for player/squad cost, slightly better than second bottom, which we were last season with only Sheffield Wednesday below us.
So ask your selves what is a realistic signing given those constraints.1 -
Ty Ewans-Findlay has gone on loan to Crawley Town2

Given it’s the 9th July I’m excited about tipping into bed wetting season re; lack of signings, bring it on.2

When the World Cup is finished and the players come back from the Slovenia tour. There is going to be a splurge of top quality signings. We are going to get rid of all the deadwood. Everyone, including me, will be saying what were we worrying about? Then I awoke from my Alice in Wonderland dream and realised that there is five weeks to go till the start of the Season.1
