The bigger money deals in last years window all happened towards the end of July, Kelman, Apter and Knibbs, a lot of the freebies/chepaer ones were prior to the middle of July. Wish people would calm down a bit, enjoy the weather and worry about the World Cup instead
Last season we didn't know what division we were in until 28th May, and were (and still are) constantly told that was one of the reasons why we were behind with our recruitment. This season we knew what division we were in on 25th April - a full month earlier.

    No excuses this time.
Oh well, it's that simple, isn't it, and the indication were we would have still signed quite a few of the players we signed regardless of the league we were in. We don't need to buy in haste as did last summer, we can take time and sign the right players. Anyway, you've got something to moan about in your sad little cave, you must be delighted.
Thats me told then. As you say, I'll go hide in my cave & wait until mid August to see "the right" players performing out on the pitch.
    Please do

    Any more on Jordan Holsgrove?
As one of the most impressive playmakers in his league last season, and at a good age, he’s exactly what we need.
    @stjohnshill you heard anymore mate?
Still the same sadly. He’s not very keen at all or really interested despite Jones best efforts to convince and sell the club and project to him
If he doesn’t want to move back to the uk then who could blame him. He might think he has options near the bottom of the bundesliga then. Shame, as I think he looks quality.

I think Sichenje should be included in this summer's transfer equation seeing as we intended to sign him this summer but brought it forward due to increased interest in him. Therefore we have signed three defenders and according to one trusted poster on here had another player in for a fitness test and medical recently.

I think we should trust the club's approach and accept we are not going to compete with two thirds of the clubs in this league. Hopefully a few surprise and quality signings are on their way. I'm sure there is a lot of hard work going on to ensure this is the case.

The bed wetting on this thread is hilarious. Same people every year
Same people that when we do sign somebody pipe up as underwhelmed.

Does anyone happen to have have a highly amusing GIF of an old man wearing a Charlton shirt wetting his bed?

Might be useful to have it ready. just in case.
  • We should know by now NJ keeps a VERY tight ship on transfer rumours. Any transfer rumour seems to always come from the selling club side, if at all. Sichenje and mesik basically came out of nowhere. Kind of expecting the same.

It is probably a good thing but it is boring as a supporter, all eyes on the WC till Sunday I guess!
Why are you looking at the toilet Yann?

    It's ageist.

You don't have to be old to wet the bed.

Shame but if we’re in the market for that quality of player then it can only be viewed as good.

I saw 25 overnight and was expecting a rumour. Nah.

I think the only thing today on here today is that a couple of fringe/U21s are going.

Some of it was justified last year tbf. We started the season underprepared and had to paper over the cracks in January.

I’d imagine he wants to stay but only for the money he thinks he deserves. What the fuck is tosh about that ?

Really really don’t want Dykes back. Going into next season with the exact same strike force as last season would be insanity.

He can stay with the contract we’ve offered him or he can fuck off.

Coming out with empty platitudes of wanting to stay is tosh.

I dont disagree - but how insane it would be depends on what formation we are looking to play.

If it is 4-2-3-1 for example - I think a quality winger, and 2 midfielders who can pass the ball forward are more important. Get those right, and Kelman, Godden, Leaburn and Dykes sharing the workload of the number 9 should be good for more goals. Whether its enough is another matter.
