I think TC is a very good player who will get better in the right team but I can see some logic in selling him now.
The most surprising aspect of it is that it would be to Preston.2 -

So all the posts are about TC going to PNE.....although it could be the TC from Sheff U.
We need Rich Cawley to confirm or deny.0 -

Not where I sit. Saw a lot of abuse. One time last season I can remember we conceded just before half time, and tbf TC was to blame but some one in front of me stood up and just POINTED at TC and held it there. Half time whistle went, TC was walking back, looked up and saw the guy pointing directly at him and his shoulders immediately went down and his head went down in shame, like a bullied child.Braziliance said:TC getting abused? People are having a laugh right? TC is way more supported at games than heckled, substantially more.
He has a chant (completely inaccurate btw, rarely scores) that gets sung at least twice a game. All the people that do have a go at him he probably can't hear in a packed stadium.
TC frustrates fans, but that happens at every club. We as a fan base generally give players an easy ride, it takes a lot for us to completely have a pop at someone.
Be annoyed if he goes, as I don't believe we can adequately replace him, but from his point of view the move might be at the right time. He plays in a team that nullifies his strengths, he may get more attacking freedom at Preston, then it's up to him to improve individually. I feel here he has too many defensive duties at times and has been overplayed.
i will say he’s one of our players who the crowd really has a massive impact on, when we’re supportive he can do great things, when we’re on his back he can really spiral. It doesn’t make that much sense to sell him imo unless he’s made clear he won’t sign a new contract.

4 unread posts for me...
ed - I'm caught up. Was mostly just golfie saying how many unread posts there are.10 -
He was the one player last season that we relied on to produce magic, he was massively overplayed. That wasn’t his fault. Im not even a season ticket holder but I went to at least three games where I heard a sarcastic cheer when he got subbed. He absolutely 100% gets worser treatment than the majority of players.Braziliance said:TC getting abused? People are having a laugh right? I would be disappointed to see TC go but too many things are up in the air with him, contract, end product, mentality?
I think there's no doubt about the potential TC has and he's been really important for us for a while now. I can't help but feel that he's holding himself back from really kicking on, he's had the full support of the manager, he's played a lot of games for his age so what is stopping him from really kicking on?
Yes, he's been used out of positions a lot but what a great learning experience for him and he has the physical and technical attributes to play in those different positions.
I think we hear about his shy persona a lot, he obviously doesn't seek the limelight and has shown that some of the criticism from some supporters has got to him. I really think that a fresh start will help him to kick on but I do feel he needs to strengthen his mindset to really kick on because we know players who really kick on have this unbreakable self belief, TC seems a bit to lack that side of things.2 -
It’s both. People are getting crabby with each other and the place is full of carping on about things.golfaddick said:168 new posts.......I hope it’s something exciting & not 2 people bickering or more fish puns.

Yes I have heard people say to me they think TC is lazy, frustrating (I have said I find him frustrating loads) and I have heard people outloud moan when TC misplaces a cross or whiffs a shot etc. I have never witnessed a person say something so obvious he directly hears it though.
I have met TC a handful of times, and the lad is never upbeat. You compare him to our other academy lads like Kanu and Anderson (of course now ex) and they're nothing alike. I have always found Miles and TC to be a bit reserved and not look motivated, but that is their personality type.
Can genuinely say I have never heard or seen anything where I have thought "TC will hear/see that and it's going to impact him". If we are talking social media, he will have to log off or avoid it, as that only gets worse the higher he goes.
I think TC has been far more backed by us as fans than heckled. Vocal minority having a lot of influence here imo.7 -
NJ will also be aware of the 25 man squad rules, and if we are to bring in new players elsewhere, we do need to create space. You can't just keep signing players.SheedyCAFC said:Think the owners would be more keen to sanction a TC sale than NJ would be but it makes sense to cash in, Grant & Alli can & will cover his goal/assist stats, but we could still use another player who can run & drive with the ball like TC for 45 games a season. I guess Apter could be that guy if we’re not writing him off but I think it’d be Abu Kamara (or a loanee)
And while NJ has been building TC up a lot in public, that will partially be because TC is someone who needs love and a confidence boost.0 -

I'd want five wingers in the squad, ideally with one who can cover both sides and one who can cover wing back to give flexibility. Also, it's a position where players are likely to be subbed, so I could see us using four wingers in a lot of games. With only four in the squad, one injury would leave us unable to do that without playing someone out of position or youngster to cover.fenaddick said:
Why would it mean that? We're clearly already looking for a RW and if TC goes we'd have two LW. I don't think we'd be looking for an additional winger. I heard Preston North End are abandoning Deepdale and relocating to the Valley.
Not.
Unless there is a stupidly high offer with a substantial sell on then TC would surely be better off staying.
The flanker is pressure brought on by signing Grant and Alli.
Agents ‘advising’ are often leeches. It would seem awfully weird seeing TC plying his trade in the grim up north places, then again Karoy is willing to go to a grim up north place.
I am a TC fan and want him to stay.0 -

5 wingers would be my preference too but it would need some major squad juggling to make it work. I'd always want a couple of pacey options off the bench that can stretch games late on.0
-
if the offer is decent enough and he's indicated he won't be signing a new contract, then he'll be off
shame, but we can't let him go for nothing.4 -
I disagree on TC being our most abused player, mainly because I abuse Kaminski every week because he is shit every week.
I abuse TC once a fortnight so take from that what you will.21 -
I think if he does go it's more about the sell on than any current fee. If he goes on to do well then we should profit because Preston would have to sell at some point, if he doesn't do well then we've gained the fee anyway0
-
I'd be very surprised if we sold TC to a club similar size to us after starting him in our final pre-season friendly and him featuring the whole pre-season. A higher positioned team? I would understand. Preston? No chance.1

I can't see any way we just let our most valuable player run down his contract and leave on a free. If he won't sign a new deal then sadly I think we should cash in and reinvest1

Anyone considered that TC's agent is doing their job by suggesting there is interest from other clubs in order to get his client a better offer from Charlton?

With Bell seemingly viewed as a FB/CB option it does give us a lot of opportunity to freshen up the attack1 -
Was there, North Lower and didn't hear it. Not saying it didn't happen, but if I didn't hear it, there is a likelihood a player more focused on the game than me didn't either.Crispywood said:

In my head he is one of the most popular players and has a dedicated chant that is way oversung and people only get frustrated cause they expect more from him than anyone. He is also quite comfortably the most popular player I would say among our young fans.

Yeah I'll be interested to see how it all shakes out , there's a lot of different permutations but I think you've probably got it right with 4 attackers and a CAM. Of course the likes of Alli can play either flank and Grant can play wide or through the middle so it's rather versatile.fenaddick said:

He even gets abused in the Curbs stand at times. My guess is that in the North Lower there are other chants going on that cover up what's happening around the rest of the ground. A bit like when you're in an away end with a good roof and it sounds incredibly loud, then you watch the highlights and realise you could barely be heard.Braziliance said:

In my head he is one of the most popular players and has a dedicated chant that is way oversung and people only get frustrated cause they expect more from him than anyone. He is also quite comfortably the most popular player I would say among our young fans.
I'll genuinely be sad if he goes, as much as he frustrates me.
You're right about the young fans thing and my experience of seeing him get abused it does tend to be people 40+ which is sad in itself. His chant only gets oversung because 1) he's a rarity in terms of being able to get people off their seats at times and 2) lots of our other chants aren't great.2
