We have had had plenty of Woeful windows this is not one.
    It remains to be seen.

Once that new midfielder is in then we’re in a better place to comment
At worse this is a 5/10. Some clubs can’t even field full teams and we’re fortunate to have 2 players for every position.

Last season the start of the downfall was when we had an injury crisis and had to play people through knocks we aren’t forced to do that with what we have in so far.

Get this winger and midfielder sorted and depending on the quality of them could be a 8/10

May be a bit of a tangent, but have the squad numbers been announced yet? Assume they will need to be today / tomorrow for Cheltenham to print their programme?

Which players are you not registering because we have too many then?

I'm only one player over the 25 limit and given Burke is never fit enough to play anyway he may as well be the fall guy and busy himself with filling the car park pot holes, serving in the bars at half time and ensuring the toilet door locks all work.

I’ve got a feeling that a signing will be announced tomorrow. Not ITK by any means but just got a strong feeling 😂

Surely this window has been 10/10?

Just think how well we’ve done to keep hold of the best midfield partnership in the league.

The rest of the teams can only dream of having Cov & Doc running the show!
These two seem to be taking more and more stick, largely due to frustration we haven't strengthened by now, which really isn't their fault.
Agree - I blame TC for the lack of central midfield signings.
I’d rather he was playing in central
    midfield
Didn’t Appleton play him there for a few games? Footballing masterclass

Everyone laughing at Redmond just remember when rumours of Coady joining everyone was deflated saying his "legs had gone" "Be like watching forest gump play football" "hasn't played for Wrexham he is finished". Look at the Impact he had if it wasn't for him we may have gone down I think.
He was a below average premier league winger at his peak and he’s nowhere near that level anymore -  that’s why he’s played 20 games in the last 3 seasons and was released by Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn last season. He’s shit, we shouldn’t sign him.

Below  average prem wingers don’t get an England cap I’d suggest

From a Preston source that nothing is agreed for TC as of yet but them signing Burgzorg has not put them off him and they’re still very interested in him

He is nowhere near quick enough to serve in the bar. There would be riots among fans not getting their beers quickly enough. He should be able to cope with potholes and toilet locks alright, though.

Good news, TC's most recent follow is a Luxury Chauffeur service so no need for a taxi to Preston.

If I was a footballer being driven to Preston, a luxury chauffeur service sounds about what I’d want.

Yes they do - there’s plenty of examples of below average premier league players getting an England cap.

Another day without a new central midfielder
This is the frustrating part. Every day that goes by is one less day without our potential new player getting to gel with the team, and potentially less potential points without match sharpness. People can say it's dramatic but we stayed up by 6 points last season and a good start to the season can set the tone.

We have known our league status since April, 102 days ago. We have known long before that that the glaring issue is in the midfield. It's bloody amateur we haven't got one in by now (it should be two tbh). You're telling me a Championship level club can't find a better midfielder than what we have in that time period, ready to sign when the window opens?

If all our plans have been based around a player who we have allegedly underbid for, I'll be so disappointed.

People will say it's bed wetting, or dramatic etc, but it's not. It is the most important position we need and we should have had 10-20 names ready to approach, and if we don't, I question our scouting capabilities.

Derby County ten days away and as it stands, it's almost certain Conor Coventry or Greg Docherty will be starting for us, maybe even both. Not good enough imo.
We could sign a better player by waiting though, who could be worth an extra 6 points over the season.

If we’d signed a right wing back early August instead of waiting for Bree we might have got relegated last season.

They are obviously trying to get one in as quickly as possible, it’s such an important signing I’m happy to wait to make sure it’s the best possible signing rather than rush one in now

Surely the longer we wait the quality of the player we get goes down, a time will come when players don’t want to move, or the ones worth having have gone elsewhere. I don’t see us putting in a big enough bid for someone worth having from another champ team, hopefully we have uncovered some ready to go gems from abroad. Not convinced it’s going to happen to be honest.

216 days ago the club genuinely tried to move Greg Docherty to Wycombe but it fell through, I believe cause of an injury? So it's very safe to assume that at a minimum, Nathan Jones has probably wanted a new midfielder or even two, over 200 days ago.

Sorry, but that isn't good enough for me. I'll still go to the games as I can, support the team, etc, bla bla, but there is no hiding how amateur it is. Like I said, I would pay serious money to listen in on one of the meetings where they discuss players.

So far being the operative words. So far I’d agree. But the window hasn’t closed yet. Let’s see what rabbits get pulled out the hat between now and the window closing. In my opinion there is still a hell of a lot to do.
To get the transfer window up to anything near decent you're going to have to find a warren full of rabbits !
