We’ve missed out on Jayden Stockley who has just signed for the wombles 😜
    A Stockley/Kanu front two could worry a few L1
    defences
    The Kanu part at least.
Stockley was a decent L1 attacker I thought
Good in the air but immobile and technically poor (to put it politely). Also moany and lazy. Not for me.
Technically poor is a bit harsh. His link up play was good for me
Really... I think I was being kind. What former or current Charlton player would you say is technically poor?
I’m not sure many at league one or champ level
can be considered technically poor. I think it’s a lazy description used sometimes for players who don’t fit a system or who just haven’t played very well.

No one at this level is poor technically. They wouldn’t have made it otherwise
Well that's why you don't agree Stockley is technically poor!

I disagree, by the way. Some players have fantastic technique for the level, and some have poorer technique, but often make up for it in other areas. It's the same for practically every skillset in football.
Yea so different levels of technical ability. Totally agree with that.

My point is that none of them are technically poor I don’t think. I’m not sure you can be at that level

I thought you had long left the club before he joined Hermann?!?!?

Simon Church got something to say about that, played a lot of his career at Championship level and had dreadful ball striking technique but worked his nuts off and was very athletic

It’s relative though. Obviously any professional footballer is pretty technically good. But relatively there are players who aren’t that great technically but make up for it with the rest of their play. I’ve always thought Josh Edwards is quite technically poor but is still a great player

    Yep see your point.

Just my opinion based on nothing more than an utter lack of decent rumours :)

Yeah, I'm just comparing them to each other. If I'm comparing Stockley's technical ability to myself as a footballer, he's practically a wizard.

Is Gisappointed harveysgardener? His obsessions with Nadir Cifti and Conor Gough used to be legendary. Cifti went on to get a 6 game ban for biting someone and then fought his own teammate in training and Gough played about 60 games his whole career. Feels like a similar level of scouting

Away at Fleetwood 2-1 (Oct 21), those skid marks are after the Stockley winner.

Got tickets via Tom Clark (Preston legend)  and was promised the match winning shirt, never arrived.

They can’t afford a fee for Kanu and only enquired if he was available to loan.
We may actually have to loan him out at this point and hope interest comes January.

Orient want Kabia, Plymouth want Mellon/Kabia/Evans, Barnsley want Wareham. Luton already picked up Marshall, Stockport got Maldron. Theres not a single L1 club with a shred of money who want Kanu as a 1st choice at present.

Surely this window has been 10/10?

Just think how well we’ve done to keep hold of the best midfield partnership in the league.

The rest of the teams can only dream of having Cov & Doc running the show!

100 new posts. Must be a signing. Nope: George Dobson to Jayden Stockley micro analysis.
    Peak CL Rumours Thread 🤣

If anyone think our window has been crap or just wants some positive reminding it can always be worse. Mowbray has had to fly to Switzerland to beg the blackburn owners to give him more money and Schumacher has come out and said Celtic's 3rd choice striker may not be financially viable for Bolton to afford.

Might have to do with a low fee but a decent sell on attached

Preston still haven’t got a matchday squad and Lincoln just sold their best player. Add a couple of decent players to what we’ve got and there’s at least a few teams we can finish above

This transfer window hasn’t been woeful, but equally, it hasn’t been good enough yet either.

I may be hallucinating from the food poisoning I have but I think I've just seen several people claim a man who was almost transcendentally slow and terrible three years ago could be part of a dangerous L1 attack in 2026. I might go and lie down for a bit

    It remains to be seen.

Once that new midfielder is in then we’re in a better place to comment

These two seem to be taking more and more stick, largely due to frustration we haven't strengthened by now, which really isn't their fault.

Agree - I blame TC for the lack of central midfield signings.

I’d rather he was playing in central
    midfield
