You have to consider charles sinjenje is injured
Never heard of him. Who does he play for?

Macca hopelessly out of his depth here
Because he slipped? He's had a decent half
If Macca slipped and made a mistake but we still didn't concede we'll be fending off bids from the Spuds tomorrow because that's an obvious improvement on what they've got.

Free kick hits the wall, ball goes out to our right and Clarke wins us a free kick midway in our half.

Thought it was a good foul from Macca, only downside is our entire Left hand defence is on a booking now
Exactly why it was dumb, the attacker was running into a space covered off by our midfield and defence

Macca trying to change shirts just before HT.

Boro switch it over to our right, Cov blocks, Leaburn runs up the right, ball's out for a throw and that's half time.

Solid away performance so far. Can’t get through us and had one golden opportunity - need to put the next one away.

HT 0-0, going well so far, 'Boro running out of ideas and getting a bit frustrated, but well done lads, more of the same second half will be good

Decent account of ourselves that half.

Makes you wonder what we could have done if we had more quality on the pitch.

HT 0-0 and I'd have taken that beforehand.

I would say this has been reminiscent of some of those early season performances in that you can see they are, overall, better than us, but we have been able to keep them somewhat at arm's length (with the odd scare) while carrying a bit of threat of our own, at times. It'd be bold to say we look likely winners, but it's been a first half in which we have certainly competed and made a decent fist of it. There *might* be a point in this for us, especially if we can keep it tight for another 30 minutes and potentially unleash TC to threaten some real pace on the counterattack.

Pretty happy with that, especially given the changes.
  • Good half all things considered!

Happy enough with that. Very well organised and have had a couple of little sniffs. Leaburn having to do a lot on his own. Wouldn’t mind us being a bit more positive in possession.

Good first half, will be interesting to see what Hellberg does in the second half to inject some creativity into his side

Great performance so far... Just need to avoid conceding an early goal in the second half

Done very well first half. Kelman should have scored as well

Too many passengers in the side this evening. Bell, Ramsay and Jones all anonymous.

Not a bad first half for a team being led by a manager who’d given up.

Longer we keep this going the more they will get frustrated.

All that space on the counter is made for TC

I thought that was a good half from us. Boro are good but we’re defending bravely. Chambers has been fairly poor but other than that good performances and they look vulnerable on the counter. Shame Kelman couldn’t convert his chance though the keeper did well. West Brom are winning and Oxford are starting to look a bit ominous so would mean a lot to get some kind of result here

I will be amazed if Boro don't score 2nd half but a bonus to get to HT 0-0.
The lads are playing as a team and no surprise just 27% possession.
Excellent save by Mannion where he just got his fingertips to the ball.
I thought Charlie would score but the keeper did well to block even though there was a slight gap at the near post.

The Saints need to pull their finger out against WBA and a draw is best with Oxford and Blackburn.
  • Pleasantly surprised by that display. Gritty and solid. Predicted a 3-0 loss based on the starting line up. Happy to be proved wrong so far.
