We held them to a 1-1 draw at St Mary's. Maybe they should have spied on us as wellArmchairAddick said:
So we're not even worth spying on 😆MrBurns said:

Think he means Millwall will be thinking if only we beat Hull, technically that would have been a two legged final.sam3110 said:

Both he and Tanto need to be moved on. Time to cut our lossesSDAddick said:Apter not in the Bolton squad. He's going to need a real arm around the shoulder in pre-season, and another L1 loan next season. Hopefully he gets one where he plays as a wingback so he hopefully learns how to adapt to our system. Either that or flog him somewhere he'll play every week regardless of the outcome and just hope he recoups a bit of value.0 -
They certainly did thankfully!.sam3110 said:

Just my own amusement thinking of what they could possibly miss out on if they had actually won0 -
It's tough as Boro will be able to argue the whole thing affected them and they could have won.ArmchairAddick said:Just awarding the promotion to Hull seems the most sensible thing to do if they are found guilty tbh. Pissing the other clubs and the fans about doesn't seem in the best interests of the sport.
Massive fine and at least 12 points deducted, if not more, for Southampton seems about right.
Perhaps the fine should be based on all costs from a cancelled Wembley, including the payout to the winners, plus 10%3 -
Bradford 0-1 Bolton...against the run of play...0
-
I'd go get Jenson Metcalfe from Bradford. Decent, young, high energy midfielder.1
-
Bad mistake from the Bradford defender.1

I hope for Hull's sake they have a spy in both the Boro AND Southampton ca...m...p, oh!0

Forino at Bolton could be a nice partner for Lloyd if Bolton don’t go up. London boy too.1

Very professional performance from Bolton over the two legs I thought0

Not downplaying the cheating that Southampton have been caught doing, but, being kicked out the play offs, massive fine, and 12 points deducted next season, would be too much.ArmchairAddick said:Just awarding the promotion to Hull seems the most sensible thing to do if they are found guilty tbh. Perhaps the fine should be based on all costs from a cancelled Wembley, including the payout to the winners, plus 10%Difficult to compare the two, but when teams are cheating by spending millions of pounds more than allowed and only being punished with 6 point deductions, there’s no way the above suggested punishment for Southampton can be seen as fair. Not saying they don’t deserve a big punishment, but all three things together wouldn’t align with other teams punishments when caught cheating, even if situations are different.3 -

Not sure the EFL have done much wrong here. The offence only took place last week, then Southampton were charged, teams usually get 14 days to respond to a charge but that has obviously had to be fast tracked and now we're told the hearing will take place on or before next Tuesday.ShootersHillGuru said:Typical EFL though. Why the delay in holding the hearing. Thrown everything into the usual confusion on anything EFL. Hull are becoming the victims here.
So from original offence to hearing that will be less than 2 weeks, that is absolutely lightning pace considering the usual timescale of EFL charges. What more do you think the EFL could have done?
Well they could have course said you have seven days to respond to the charges. Southampton know everything there is to know. They either did it or didn’t . Quite what an extra seven days would provide I’m not sure. How would Southampton prove they didn’t do it ? What can they bring to the hearing that they don’t know already. They either sent a spy or didn’t. There are no mitigations to this. They can lie of course but if they do and are found out I’d want to see them expelled from the league or at least relegated to division two. The delay has literally thrown a hundred thousand supporters into turmoil. Would have definitely disrupted Hull City’s preparations. Hulls players will have summer plans that now might be thrown into doubt because of this possible delay to the game. It’s another unacceptable example of The EFL dragging their feet.2 -

Hulls players will have summer plans that now might be thrown into doubt because of this possible delay to the game. It’s another unacceptable example of The EFL dragging their feet.Even with something as clear cut as sending a spy, clubs still need the right to appeal. Not because they're going to suddenly prove they didn't do it, but because the punishment itself or the way the decision was made could be wrong. Think about criminal courts for a second, even when someone is clearly guilty, they still get a right to appeal. It's not about lying or buying time. It's a corner stone of any half decent justice system.
The extra seven days aren't for them to work out if they sent a spy, of course they know that. It's for arguing the how and the what next. Like, did the EFL follow their own rules properly? Is the punishment disproportionate? Could be a technical issue or a mistake in how the evidence was handled. You can't just throw the book at someone without letting them have a proper say.
Yeah, it drags on and leaves fans in limbo. But scrapping appeals just because a case looks obvious? That's how you end up with the EFL making bad decisions with no comeback. Even a convicted criminal gets a right to appeal. Football shouldn't be any different, even when it's a pain in the backside.
I get the frustration and it's definitely unfair on Hull's preparation but I'm not sure there's really anything else the EFL could do here? If you accept that appeals are necessary, surely legal teams need some time to prepare?

Saints 'spygate' .. according to the BBC this a.m. , no tickets have been issued for the final, it's not even sure if/where/when the game will be played !
There will be an 'inquiry' next Tuesday (see you next Tuesday etc etc). What about the fans organising tickets, travel accommodation et al ?
Why t f wait so long for a hearing when this is obviously a VERY important issue and surely needed sorting a s a p ? .. This is stupidity of the highest order by the FA/EFL3 -

There are other events booked at Wembley on the weekends immediately after the date the final is due to be played. If it were to be held at a later date, it would be impacting pre-season plans, with several teams not even knowing what division they are going to be in. The off season isn't that long, so shortening that by just a few weeks is not insignificant and the teams affected may miss out on recruitment options as well as a recduced break etcShootersHillGuru said:Chris_from_Sidcup said:

I believe this came to light a few days before the first leg - so around the 6th/7th May. One snippet on here says the disciplinary hearing starts today and will conclude no later than next Tuesday. Based on that it took the EFL a week to review the evidence, raise the charge, and set up the independent panel. That is warp speed compared to the EFL's usual pace.4 -
NJ should be more careful with the limited resources we have. Poor purchases, given his defensive mindset Apter was not a strong candidate , Olaofe lacks...alot. The loan signings in Jan were were better suited to NJ needs.cabbles said:

The final should be Boro v Hull, not Hull given a freebie.1

Once more, the EFL don't own the timeframe. Not sure what the FA have to do with this.Lincsaddick said:Saints 'spygate' .. according to the BBC this a.m. , no tickets have been issued for the final, it's not even sure if/where/when the game will be played !

What they have done wrong, in my opinion, is not have set punishments in place.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

*Ignore Didn't see this asked on the Champ thread. What does spying on a training session actually achieve? analysts can go to every other teams games all season, watching training for a bit would reveal what? I didn't realise they're that top secret? Does Ronnie get moved on when he's in the bushes at SL?6
