Also, I think we need to add Knibbs to the list of those who need to be shipped out. He has made no impact in any of the friendlies despite no longer being injured.

Does feel like we’ve got very little Championship quality in there at the moment.

Poor recruitment in the last summer window still hanging over us.

Lets hope we see a lot of movement now.

The final 30 team all looked pretty knackered. Would imagine they had a heavy fitness session yesterday probably and they’ll swap the teams next week and do the same

They also did a lot of running this morning, as they do with all the early pre season games.

Going in to these games with a couple hours fitness in the morning must feel quite grim!

We are in trouble is my assessment after watching that dirge.
We haven't changed the major problem from last season - the midfield.

Brought in some defenders but before the end of the month we really need to bring in 1, if not 2 players who can get the team moving forwards.

(And yes I know the season doesn't start for another 3 weeks but you need the players in pdq so that they can gel in training and not learning each other's names at the Olympic Stadium ! )

What the last 30 did show, is that with TC on the left of the 4231, we do need a LB to get forward, as TC will be cutting inside onto his right all the time, leaving no width unless the LB gets forward, which Bell understandably didn't do.

We need starters in ASAP - This team is no where near it.

Sure we’ll hear more from Nathan when he speaks to Rich and Louis

Still believe in wingers staying on their "proper" foot like Anthony Gordon. England are a much better team when he is running at players on the wing.

Good run out, minutes in the legs, total control, bit rusty etc etc

Is it just me or is the pitch quite slow?
Looked to me like we just pass the ball too softly.

No way this squad can play 4-2-3-1

A few observations..  it definitely feels like we are switching to a back 4 this year.  Not sure how Godden/Kelman fit into a 4231 as neither are wide forwards or traditional back to goal center forwards, they really need to be a second striker with two up front.  Same goes for Bell - not big enough to be a cb in a 4 man back line and we already have Mesic/Edwards as left backs.  Redmond showed his technical quality with that one through ball but I didn’t see the energy or aggressiveness of someone playing for a contract - hard pass.  TC is TC.  Dangerous getting behind the defense but still can’t cross even against league two opposition. JRC looked our most creative midfielder today - which is a problem.

I liked the look of Asimwe today. Make or break for his Charlton career now I feel

Second half with so many subs disjointed, positive TC looking fit and willing to out muscle the opposition, good to see Goden back, that corner from that the goL was scored from, was wright behind the corner flag, new it was a good corner as soon as it left his boot. Let's hope more like that during the seaon.
Assimwe needs to develop an understanding of the play, he got himself into good position then took the wrong decision.

Didnt really pay attention to how fit the players were, believe in the pre-season process. In terms of the players, mwamba, billy the kid and asimwee all looked handy.

Sleep walking into league one if we don't get championship players in. Big week ahead

Anthony Gordon is right footed and plays on the left where he regularly cuts in to shoot

Mwamba looks like our most progressive midfielder, really think he should be kept. In the squad this season. Thought Kanu’s hold up play and runs were better than Kelman.

Gills fault then. They have not discovered WiFi yet.
Did they just rock up 10 minutes before the game and expect it to work?
Probably. That’s pretty standard where there’s no proper planning.

Nice day out, few beers in Rochester before and a decent run out for the squad. Still missing Leaburn, Edwards, Sichenje, Apter and no doubt about 4 new signings.

Some people have silly expectations around friendlies
Same people are the ones that would be saying “it’s only a friendly” if we’d won 5-0

    I've had enough.

May I suggest that everyone who purchased the package demands that for no extra cost, their subscription is upgraded to that to cover ALL pre season games that would normally cost £8 according to the OS.

Hoever long it takes to sort today's fiasco ( if at all) we need to let the club know how important this is to us , the fans , and that they need to demonstrate they acknowledge this immediately with a gesture that reimburses us & more.
I’d hate to get on the wrong side of Fanny.

I had to do an Internet search on Taco Bell, I thought it was some sort of musical instrument.
