Said to my wife I’d have Watkins on, balls into the channels, get us up the pitch, relieve the pressure, ease ourselves back into the game.CL_Phantom said:Just had to stick on saka and Watkins and hit balls over the top for the last 20.
Argentina were committed to attacking and both cbs on yellows.
Old tuchels bum went. Bottled it.8 -
Hopefully Jude calls out Thomas Tuchel's tactical incompetence, as quickly as Thomas Tuchel called out the player's quality in the quarters. Absolute masterclass in how not to manage a World Cup semi final. When you're playing Dan Burn as an emergency striker, you really have f*cked up.6

My wife, who’s Argentinian, just said to me in disappointment: ’I wanted to see you happy.’
I replied: ’with England that’s never going to happen. You may as well get my tombstone ready with my DOB and a space for my death 2050- whatever, and write on it now ’never saw England win a tournament ’’
I’m angry with Tuchel. He f***ed this up. I said with the substitutions that it wouldn't finish 1-0. How many times have you seen a team defend a one goal lead successfully for 25 minutes against a top team? Tuchel let the team down. People complained about Southgate but ultimately, when it came to the crunch, Tuchel made the same mistake. Get in a new manager who won’t shit himself at the crucial moment. He had that in his hands and threw it away. It’s bad management, simple as that.11 -
Same old, same old. We'll never learn. Rather than keep the ball for 5/10mins after scoring we revert to type and panic defend. I had hoped our manager would have seen the past umpteen tournaments where that hasn't worked and installed a stronger mindset in our players. Clearly English footballers are incapable of mental fortitude.2

We say that after every tournament. Wake up.Laddick01 said:The foundations are still good for the next 4 years.Rice, Bellingham, Anderson (who really grew into this tournament) stays together most likely. Hopefully we can add a little more depth there.
Loads of attacking talent coming through - Ngumoha, Dowman etc.
Hopefully some of our out of form talent can pick it up (Foden, Palmer etc.)
We shouldn’t be a million miles off either a WC or Euros final, but we can’t fold like that again. Really really bad way to go out.6 -
Waited a while to calm down from the initial sting and emotion. Opinion hasn't changed. Tuchel's fault. Horrendous subs. Sacked in the morning.8

Won’t be sacked, should resign. Failure.Jonniesta said:Waited a while to calm down from the initial sting and emotion. Opinion hasn't changed. Tuchel's fault. Horrendous subs. Sacked in the morning.2 -
Oh well, I didn't want a holiday on Monday in any case 🤷♂️3
-
Oh well! I suppose we can concentrate on the league now!2

Wouldn’t mind seeing Messi’s tackle on Spence in slow mo VAR that lead to the goal. Of course we won’t but I do wonder if he caught Spence heavy after the ball that we’ve seen given, with cards in this tournament.1

At least it confirmed for me that I am now totally impervious to disappointment by England.
Really couldn't care less.
It really hurts me when Charlton lose, especially if it's an important game or a game against the scum but many years of under-performance by England means, for me, it's "oh well, quelle surprise".7 -
He’s talking a load of waffle. Just go.1
-
It just the reality though. Loss feels shit but the talent pool is still in a good place.DRAddick said:

Tuchel post match: "If it doesn't go well it's easy to blame the coach," yeh mate that's generally how things work ffs.4
-
And if that is the best an England manager can do them they might as well employ Nathan Jones - he'd be a damn sight cheaper !3
-
Not a great interview from Tuchel afterwards. Proper wanky attitude13
-
Now beginning to wonder if Gabriel Clarke had a role in all this?9
-
Very poor after we scored. Southgate type management. No outlet up front. Poor from Tuchel to think we could just hold them out for 25 minutes.
Played well until after we scored.
Gutted.
60 years of hurt has now stopped me dreaming. Just not good enough to win a world cup or probably a Euros either.2 -
Thats a piss poor interview.
Literally doesnt give a fuck. Jog on - basically we are doing the same as we did with Southgate, but with a guy who gives less of a fuck.9 -
Having listened to that he absolutely has to go.
Absolute fucking disgrace.5 -

I'd properly fear for your sanity if that happened mate!golfaddick said:And if that is the best an England manager can do them they might as well employ Nathan Jones - he'd be a damn sight cheaper !0 -
12% possession from England after going ahead. Incredible.
Ive seen Charlton have more possession than that when we are practically defending on our goal line.6 -
I'm convinced it's just too ingrained in our national psyche. We just aren't going to win it. Ever. We will find one way or another to bottle it.
Maybe at some point we will have a national reckoning as some kind of atonement for past wrongs and then maybe we will be free from the curse.7 -
25? We scored on 55 so you’re taking 35 + 10 =45CharltonManor1966 said:Very poor after we scored. Southgate type management. No outlet up front. Poor from Tuchel to think we could just hold them out for 25 minutes.

Thomas Tuchel must have naked pictures of Joe Hart or something for him to be sticking up for him like this0
-
I wasn't expecting Wayne Rooney to be talking more sense than Tuchel tonight.7
-
We had 12% possession from the time we went 1-0 up3
-
Rooney summing everything up very well on BBC. He may not be intellectually all there but his football intelligence is beyond compare.8
-
12% possession after our goal is unforgivable. Sitting ducks and even the worst manager in the world shouldn’t allow that.7
-
They just weren't the better team until we allowed them to be. Wish these pundits would stop insisting that they were the better team5
