Tuchel won't be coming back from this. Leaving likes of Wharton Palmer at home were odd decisions. Crap subs after taking the lead4
-
Clearly not, the guy is fucking inept as a manager, it's just that Tuchel is even more useless.charente addick said:Rooney summing everything up very well on BBC. He may not be intellectually all there but his football intelligence is beyond compare.0 -
Sack Tuchel tomorrow and I am not joking.
The whole point of moving on from Southgate was to eradicate the negative approach when playing the 'big' nations.
Our selection of players is far too great to try and hold on to a lead for almost 50 minutes.
Sack him now and see if Pep fancies the challenge.
Disgraceful performance.14 -
The more I think about those last 25 minutes, why didn’t we have anyone just following Messi if we were sitting that deep.
Sub Kane, who offered very little anyway and literally just have O’Reilly never more than an inch from Messi.
Instead we gave the most talented player to ever play the game the whole right wing. I bet Messi couldn’t believe it. It defied belief that this man is earning millions of pounds. It’s rare you can say this, but I think Tuchel made every single poor choice available to him. I feel very indifferent to him.6 -
Been saying it for years. I don’t get excited over England because I know at the end of the day it’ll all turn to shit.superclive98 said:At least it confirmed for me that I am now totally impervious to disappointment by England.
Really couldn't care less.
It really hurts me when Charlton lose, especially if it's an important game or a game against the scum but many years of under-performance by England means, for me, it's "oh well, quelle surprise".2 -
Just thinking about the clowns at the FA who renewed his contract before the tournament. Another old boys club with no accountability.2
-
This is the worst snatching defeat from the jaws of victory I have ever seen from England in knockout tournament football.
See you all in 2 years

Been sitting here for the last 20 mins agreeing with everything Rooney is saying.
I feel dirty.8 -

we literally had the whole of their half to run into and we didn't put any pace on up top - when a team throws caution to the wind and dominated us like they did, that's the rub - you do that but you open yourself up to the break away - basic management - we took the pace we had off - tuchel? get rid.5
-
Just admit that we were beaten by a better team6
-
Just after England scored, Argentina lost the ball in their own third. They were rattled. There to be finished off. Fucksake.9

How it went

It’s all good Weegie, I actually wanted England to win that match and am a bit gutted they didn’t (I mean, I won’t lose sleep but still…).Weegie Addick said:I’d been a big advocate for Tuchel. I’m not taking a Scot in @se9addick calling me out for calling for his head after that. (Smiley smiley in case anyone decides to think I’m serious re SE9. I do mean it re Tuchel, though.)0 -
With our 433/4231 we had 2 players on the left, and we kept Messi quiet.
We take Gordon off to become more "defensive " and Messi runs the show, with Spence getting no support.4 -
Also wtf happened to Pickford, those last two goals he was all over the place?! He’s lost his head completely. Harsh on Tuchel, I get the pelters on defence and I think his big mistake was putting Burn on. Yes he’s great in the last two but against technical teams he’s exposed, hugely, the old big English lad wasn’t the option in this game. We needed pace and counter threat but we had none so the Argies knew they could camp as we had no output3

The reality is England have had great players and a decent talent pool for decades, and are always near to getting it right. We still fail every time. That's the only reality we actually witness and is not based on optimism.Laddick01 said:
It just the reality though. Loss feels shit but the talent pool is still in a good place.DRAddick said:
We say that after every tournament. Wake up.Laddick01 said:The foundations are still good for the next 4 years.Rice, Bellingham, Anderson (who really grew into this tournament) stays together most likely. Hopefully we can add a little more depth there.
Loads of attacking talent coming through - Ngumoha, Dowman etc.
Hopefully some of our out of form talent can pick it up (Foden, Palmer etc.)
We shouldn’t be a million miles off either a WC or Euros final, but we can’t fold like that again. Really really bad way to go out.One day we will get it right and it’ll be quality.3 -
I’m think they turned into a Southgate team.0

Have a suspicion if Tuchel goes it'll be Eddie Howe.0

2 - There are just two occasions of a team scoring first in the semi-final but not reaching the final of the FIFA World Cup in the 21st century – both of them are England (vs Croatia in 2018 and Argentina in 2026).
Familiar.

Surprised you could understand him, dis they start subtitling him? Fair play for listening through all that shite though. I walked out just before the whistle blew.Clem_Snide said:Been sitting here for the last 20 mins agreeing with everything Rooney is saying.

we knew they were going to throw everything at us and that they always always score. Defending a 1 goal lead deep does not work against a quality attack, we all know that, so should Tuchel. Fucking stupid.1 -
Oh and also Messi’s Beckham style kick out on Spence when Anderson got booked was also close to the mark. Fine margins in that first half3
-
This graphic totally sums up the second half from when we scored to when they went 2-1 up

It’s a shame, Tuchel seemed to have taken the Southgate approach of being hard to beat and picking a squad to suit the tournament not just the best players, but with far better in-game management than Southgate had. He’d been good up to this point with how he managed the games against DR Congo, Mexico and Norway but he got this one so wrong. Not only was it hard to watch the team trying to protect a lead for that long but they were 10 yards too deep doing it. There were so many warning signs but no changes and then we were so unbalanced at the end when we needed a goal the strategy was focused on Konsa putting crosses into the box.On the plus side I have a hospital appointment on Monday so that bank holiday was lost on me anyway. Every cloud3

“Sack Tuchel for being a pathetically weak manager and sitting back against Argentina for 30 minutes and bringing on 6 defenders and letting them still score from an unmarked header”“Lynn could you call Gareth Southgate and….sorry, that was something else”

This is what we lost too 🤢0 -
Think it was going to be Friday 24th July. Good luck with the appointment nevertheless.Garrymanilow said:It’s a shame, Tuchel seemed to have taken the Southgate approach of being hard to beat and picking a squad to suit the tournament not just the best players, but with far better in-game management than Southgate had. OK - THEY ARE OFFICIALLY STILL CNUTS.
Been shown flying a flag saying the Falklands is still Argentinas. Win a world cup semi final and they are still obsessed about that. Tried to get it once, and had their arses totally battered.
Bunch of total filthy stinking scumbags.3
