If we’re signing a Millwall squad player to be a Charlton squad player then all good. We need a squad so not every signing has to be a marquee/starting XI player. If we’ve signed him with a view to him starting a significant number of matches for us then we’re in trouble.8

Dont really get the "very Millwall" comments. What do you think he's gonna do? Throw matches to help their campaign and score a couple of own goals every time we play em.
This happens all the time in football, I'm more concerned about the comments re' his crossing and injury6 -
He's clearly going to be back up to Ramsay. Like you said in the first part, we need a squad, but that concept seems to confuse a lot of posters for some reasonse9addick said:If we’re signing a Millwall squad player to be a Charlton squad player then all good. Think some of the negative reaction is a bit overboard. He has been brought in at rb to be a very defensive cover. If we are no longer playing wb's then it makes sense to have someone strong defensively and the fact he can cover cb if needed more the better. 150 games at this level too is a help. We already have a very good defence and I'd rather spend what money we have got on the creative players which is where, as a club, we are definitely lacking.1

Genuinely astonishing levels of negativity on here. I think the internet has really ruined the way people support football teams40

Sounds like another athlete to join our running club.
Good luck to him.. Hopefully Ramsay stays and plays most games and he is capable backup.

I’m going to be the first to suggest he’ll emulate a Champions League winner.
He’ll get sent off in our first away game of the season at WHU. Just like Djimi Traore.Just kidding, I hope!3 -
I'm sure he's the one who proper gave it to our fans when they equalised at the valley last season. He's spent his entire career at Millwall & is a self confessed Millwall fan.Hmm, not sure I like this one2

Bad feeling ramsay will be off…
carragher played for liverpool, kane was an arsenal fan etc… so not bothered who he supports.2 -
This sentiment will be his motivation. I like it.Braziliance said:Crocked, Millwall tosser. Delighted.

Ain't that the case, just a level of who can be the most miserable, it's like a generic way of doing football support onlineGarrymanilow said:Genuinely astonishing levels of negativity on here. I think the internet has really ruined the way people support football teams7 -
Charlton signing a Millwall stalwart got this kind of reaction long before the internet and social media. You just needed to be in the pub to hear it. A fair amount of it (certainly from me) is also tongue in cheek though I appreciate some are outraged.Rothko said:

Never heard of him. Yet another defender signed. Sounds ok as a squad player but if he is to replace Ramsay then we are going backwards.
No fee paid so we must be saving the pennies for the influential midfielder we desperately need2 -
Sounds like a decent player to have on the bench to bring on to see out a game. Solid defensively and not afraid of a tackle.0

I am happy if he is back up to Ramsay. But if Ramsay goes this is a poor replacement. Simple really.4

I mean we’re second favourites to go down for a reason , guff like this won’t change that
This was Danny just after your fans threw a flare at him, so maybe he had good reason to ‘give it’ to your fans at that time. Still, water under the bridge and all that. 😁
Shame he had to go to a lesser club. Without the ACL last year I reckon he could’ve got a move to somewhere decent 😉

I was hoping we'd strengthen both the starting XI and the squad as a whole. We seem to be back to signing players who have had recent injury issues. It's a trade-off, but hopefully one that works.0

When have we played you wearing yellow?MillwallFan said:oohaahmortimer said:It’s not the 🔔 🔚 who give it to our fans after the scum equalised is it ?

The video of him having words with a fan whilst he’s sat in a chair by the dugout is doing the rounds on X.
He did say he was feisty.
Good luck Danny, if you don’t start well, you’re going to need it 🙄🤣🤣1 -

All jokes aside, and putting tribal emotion to one side, this move makes perfect sense. Has got a young family that doesn’t need uprooting, will be good cover for you and didn’t cost you a fee. Will always give 100%. Just needs to stay injury free. Hasn’t quite been the same since his ACL but hasn’t had much game time either.MillwallFan said:oohaahmortimer said:It’s not the 🔔 🔚 who give it to our fans after the scum equalised is it ?

That is so embarrassing. Hard to watch.JohnnyH2 said:2 -
I'm stunned that people think it's a back up to Ransay...
Everybody seems to be convinced that NJ is going to throw his preferred formation out with the bath water..
Personally, I think Ramsay is now back up to Sichenje.
McNamara has been brought in as a squad player. There'll be a a RW/RWB signed before the window closes. All this shows is that NJ doesn't think Asimwe is ready yet.1 -
Ramsay will not play centre-half if we're going 4 at the back. Not a chance.SteveACS said:I'm stunned that people think it's a back up to Ransay...

At least at his lesser club he will see an authentic stadium, with the likelihood that he might play in front of home crowds the like of which he could only have dreamt of playing at the toolbox.MillwallFan said:Loohaahmortimer said:It’s not the 🔔 🔚 who give it to our fans after the scum equalised is it ?

Hes primarily a RB? if we were to play a back 3 is he more suited to the Ramsay RCB role or the RWB role?0
-
You may well be right re the formation. I don't see Ramsay being a back up in either system, however. I think we will see both four and five at the back throughout the year and expect Ramsay, if he stays, to be one of our most regular starters.SteveACS said:I'm stunned that people think it's a back up to Ransay...

It's clear that players with versatility has been a huge focus in the last two windows. The signing of a right sided player who can play as a winger and a WB would be ideal, hence the desire from many to sign someone like Stanley Mills. Time will tell.2 -
