    Championship experience. Good.
Care more about his injury recovery and ability to play regularly than his Mill alliegance tbh.

I'm stunned that people think it's a back up to Ransay...

Everybody seems to be convinced that NJ is going to throw his preferred formation out with the bath water..

Personally, I think Ramsay is now back up to Sichenje.

McNamara has been brought in as a squad player. There'll be a a RW/RWB signed before the window closes. All this shows is that NJ doesn't think Asimwe is ready yet.
Ramsay will not play centre-half if we're going 4 at the back. Not a chance.
Which is my point. NJ will continue playing 3-5-2.

    Sichenje/Ramsay
    Jones/Burke
    Bell/Big Billy

    On the left Edwards/Mesik

    On the right TBC/McNamara.

I agree. I just think we will still play most of the season with a back 3.

No idea if he’s any good or not.
Hopefully he's over his injury problems and is ready to start games.
On a side note I'm hoping that bringing in this type of player on a free means we are saving our money for a couple of decent midfielders because that's our main concern right now.

3 pre season matches so far, and we've played a back 4 in every minute. You don't do that if it's a formation you will only use in an emergency.

McNamara is a solid right back in a 4 type of signing. Good to have 2 decent right back options, with him and Ramsay.

I mean we’re second favourites to go down for a reason , guff like this won’t change that
This was Danny just after your fans threw a flare at him, so maybe he had good reason to ‘give it’ to your fans at that time. Still, water under the bridge and all that. 😁

Shame he had to go to a lesser club. Without the ACL last year I reckon he could’ve got a move to somewhere decent 😉
When have we played you wearing yellow?
I don’t know. My mate sent me that and said it was v Charlton but I didn’t bother to check if it was or not 😂

Until now I thought the back 4 was purely because of who is available but there’s no way we’d be wanting to play McNamara at RWB

  • If Jones and Ramsay really are holding off signing new contracts until they see who we sign, I somehow suspect signing this bloke won't convince them to do so.

As well as McNamara, Koumetio and Mesik are both players I would say suit a 4 at the back more than a 3

My main concern is our existing players are better in a 3 than a 4. Jones, Sichenje, Bell, Gough and Burke are all better in a 3 than a 4. Only really Ramsay that probably benefits from the change out of our existing players

Not as quick or good going forward, but better defensively. Suits fullback more than Clarke who was a specialist wingback.

Fair enough. My bad. I know you lot are partial to a flare or two so took it as true. Should’ve done a quick search myself. Ignore the above post 😁

A quick google shows that's your 21/22 kit. We weren't even in the same league...

You don't buy a 6th "first choice" CB (Billy the Kid), if you're only going to play 4 at the back.

We've done it, because Sichenje is injured.

(And, yes, Burke is a "first choice" CB. You wouldn't sign a player of his ability, and undoubted wages, as a squad player. In fact, almost certainly, most of his injuries last season were because he ended up playing RCB, due to suspensions/injuries. He'd be better not moving around so much...)

Not many think we will be playing 3 at the back following all the friendlies being 4. Do you have inside knowledge? Also, Macnamara is a fullback, not a wingback ( he can't cross apparently), so an odd choice if we were going 3.

Although having an experienced alternative in the squad probably strengthens our negotiating position with Ramsay.

    Sounds shit.

*Edit: because we really need something in midfield, we get an injury prone non ball playing RB.
