Championship experience. Good.
Care more about his injury recovery and ability to play regularly than his Mill alliegance tbh.4 -
Which is my point. NJ will continue playing 3-5-2.DDOUBLEE said:
Ramsay will not play centre-half if we're going 4 at the back. Not a chance.SteveACS said:I'm stunned that people think it's a back up to Ransay...
Everybody seems to be convinced that NJ is going to throw his preferred formation out with the bath water..
Personally, I think Ramsay is now back up to Sichenje.
McNamara has been brought in as a squad player. There'll be a a RW/RWB signed before the window closes. All this shows is that NJ doesn't think Asimwe is ready yet.
Sichenje/Ramsay
Jones/Burke
Bell/Big Billy
On the left Edwards/Mesik
On the right TBC/McNamara.1 -
His name is McNamara he's the leader of the band3

I agree. I just think we will still play most of the season with a back 3.SteveACS said:

Welcome Danny.
Hope you get used to using a knife and fork in the canteen.22 -
No idea if he’s any good or not.
Hopefully he's over his injury problems and is ready to start games.
On a side note I'm hoping that bringing in this type of player on a free means we are saving our money for a couple of decent midfielders because that's our main concern right now.8 -

3 pre season matches so far, and we've played a back 4 in every minute. You don't do that if it's a formation you will only use in an emergency.SteveACS said:I'm stunned that people think it's a back up to Ransay...

McNamara is a solid right back in a 4 type of signing. Good to have 2 decent right back options, with him and Ramsay.4 -
I don’t know. My mate sent me that and said it was v Charlton but I didn’t bother to check if it was or not 😂Rothko said:

I mean we’re second favourites to go down for a reason , guff like this won’t change that
This was Danny just after your fans threw a flare at him, so maybe he had good reason to ‘give it’ to your fans at that time. Still, water under the bridge and all that. 😁
Shame he had to go to a lesser club. Without the ACL last year I reckon he could’ve got a move to somewhere decent 😉2 -
Until now I thought the back 4 was purely because of who is available but there’s no way we’d be wanting to play McNamara at RWBkillerandflash said:

If Jones and Ramsay really are holding off signing new contracts until they see who we sign, I somehow suspect signing this bloke won't convince them to do so.5

As well as McNamara, Koumetio and Mesik are both players I would say suit a 4 at the back more than a 3killerandflash said:

My main concern is our existing players are better in a 3 than a 4. Jones, Sichenje, Bell, Gough and Burke are all better in a 3 than a 4. Only really Ramsay that probably benefits from the change out of our existing players1 -
Not as quick or good going forward, but better defensively. Suits fullback more than Clarke who was a specialist wingback.Jac_52 said:How does he compare to Clarke?1 -
Fair enough. My bad. I know you lot are partial to a flare or two so took it as true. Should’ve done a quick search myself. Ignore the above post 😁BalladMan said:

A quick google shows that's your 21/22 kit. We weren't even in the same league...2 -
You don't buy a 6th "first choice" CB (Billy the Kid), if you're only going to play 4 at the back.killerandflash said:

We've done it, because Sichenje is injured.
(And, yes, Burke is a "first choice" CB. You wouldn't sign a player of his ability, and undoubted wages, as a squad player. In fact, almost certainly, most of his injuries last season were because he ended up playing RCB, due to suspensions/injuries. He'd be better not moving around so much...)0 -
Not many think we will be playing 3 at the back following all the friendlies being 4. Do you have inside knowledge? Also, Macnamara is a fullback, not a wingback ( he can't cross apparently), so an odd choice if we were going 3.SteveACS said:I'm stunned that people think it's a back up to Ransay...

Although having an experienced alternative in the squad probably strengthens our negotiating position with Ramsay.Fortune 82nd Minute said:If Jones and Ramsay really are holding off signing new contracts until they see who we sign, I somehow suspect signing this bloke won't convince them to do so.0 -

Hope the club have remembered to order half a ton of carbolic soap for this guy.My God, what have we come to?1

Sounds shit.
*Edit: because we really need something in midfield, we get an injury prone non ball playing RB.6 -
