It’s already been noted that it will be the biggest attendance in England. West Ham looked very shaky at the back against Burnley and thought they looked vulnerable on multiple occasions, even giving away a stupid penalty as player panicked. If we can attack them with pace and on the run, I think we will have some decent opportunities. However, there forwards are too good for this league, so can see 2-2 today.1

It’s not ’the highest attendance since’ if it’s higher. For ’the highest attendance since’ you have to go back further until you find one over 62,500. On one hand Jones has a knack of getting his teams to get good results in away games against strong teams.
On the other hand - Wrexham in league one, Millwall last year - we can also seem to get blown away if the team and crowd are really up for it.2 -

This statement is so true. Yet they’re trying to rewrite history and make out they were nearly all against the move from the get go. Absolutely rubbish. Just have a look at the early comments on the thread about the stadium on KUMB. The vast majority were in favour of the move and excited about it taking them to ‘the next level’. Well that next level never came, not consistently anyway, and now of course they were always all against the move. It's hard to recall now but round about 2000-2005 that lot were a team we'd expect to get FAPL points off (if they were even in the FAPL with us). Based in Prague I used to pray they'd start Tomáš Řepka against us, because Robbo would torture him. It seemed like only a matter of time when we'd become a bigger club than them in London.
Then the wheels came off our wagon. And meanwhile along came the Olympics. And then came the shoddy deal for the Stadium. And then my little campaign to uncover how shoddy it was.
Because of that, I paid more attention to them than most. Yeah, I know, the club rather than the fans, but you know what? They were mostly for that stadium and didn't like anyone who questioned it. They certainly didn't like me on KUMB, but what bothered me was how Brady orchestrated intimidation of those few of their own fans who opposed it.
The thing was, even though we (there was a coalition of Supporter Trusts on the case) arguably won the argument, I always felt a tinge of sadness about it. I could not see how we would be playing there in my lifetime in a league game. I could not see it in 2018 when we'd got the whole deal out in the open. I certainly could not see it just 3 years ago when they all pitched up in Prague to win the EuroConference thing against Fiorentina. Two divisions between us, and financially on different planets.
And yet, tomorrow, here we are. At the Taxpayers' Stadium, in a league game. Think about that for a moment.
Rationally, we will do well to escape from there without a heavy beating. Yeah, well rationally 3 years ago this game was never going to happen. Football doesn't always do rational. And actually of all our recent managers I can't think of anyone better than Nathan Jones to lead us in there and show them what this league is about.

Absolutely buzzing for today’s game and I don’t think we need to fear this West Ham side. Yes they have very good attackers, but they haven’t looked fit in either of their games so far. Portsmouth were getting in very promising positions. Burnley were walking through their midfield time after time. One thing we have which they don’t is finishers off the bench. If we keep this tight until 60-70, we can do what we did against Derby. UTFA.2
