Should it be a retake if he kicks it against his own foot? Or a free kick to Spain? I forget the rule on it
  • Free kick. Otherwise players get an advantage from their own mistake.
  • Sums this team up….. going forward as good as anyone in the world. Brainless at the back

Man City defenders having a mare today…
  • How hasn't that gone 2-2

Great game……plus no one diving or rolling about in feigned injury.
    Presumably you’re not watching Bellingham?

    Decent finish unfortunately

Can’t be long before Hall gets a shot at that LB position.
  • Quite a Charltonish goal to concede that.

Retake if it goes in. Free kick if it doesn’t.

Horrendous defending. Why did he stand off him and let him play the pass?

No less than they deserve tbh. Should have six.

I genuinely do not understand this back line. No cohesion, very very average.
  • This defence is so over the place

Kane penalty miss changed the game I’m afraid. We should’ve gone 3-1 ahead not just from that but our 10 mins of dominance leading up to it.

Should have been 3-1 to us and now we're 3-2 down, top to bottom we're not cutthroat enough, the teams that win tournaments make it count and see games out

Don’t really get the Ole stuff. We’ve played the better football for a majority of this game.

They've have had the better clear cut chances by far. The score is pretty flattering for us.

I’m not arguing with that at all but we clearly had the upper hand with the state of the game at 55 minutes and squandered it. We should have been 3-1 up at that moment.

  • That back 4 from 4 years ago, Trippier Stones Maguire Walker was way stronger than what we now have.

It's weird how things are so cyclical,  quality English centre backs used to be everywhere. Now we have a glut of attacking midfielders.

I get it. But I don't like to claim 'shoulda woulda coulda' when the oppo also shoulda scored six or seven.

Absolutely. Spain are undoubted the best team in the world by a mile at the minute and it was going to take them having an off game to beat them. They were having an off game and we didn’t punish them when we could, that’s what I’m frustrated about.

Looked pretty good, even in defeat.

Still don’t understand what Quansah offers over TAA.

Enjoyed that, despite the result. Played some really good stuff going forwards.

    Defense is really poor, though.

  • Biggest concern is I don’t think we can play that much better against Spain and we still lost.

Yep that’s the crux. This Spain generation are way ahead of anyone else. Cannot see the likes of Bellingham and others winning anything of note in an England shirt when this is the competition, unfortunately.
  • I don't really watch City so I'm not sure what's happened to Guehi. He looked so assured when he started for England but was the opposite tonight. Whole defence is weak, I'd probably prefer to have Maguire back.

Enjoyed the game though. The nations league has definitely improved international breaks.

Yeah not any better defensively and Trent offers so much more going forward. Trent should have come on near the end. Some strange subs again from tommy
