  • Does that mean he could play for Watford today....with something to prove? :o(
  • could be a right touch

King doesn't play and neither does Collins John as the registrations haven't gone through
  • Surely, King would still be registered as a Watford player?

Unless he would be 'sent home as his head isn't right'...?

I can't imagine Fulham letting Collins John go on loan until they've got a replacement first ...... unless the deal was already done before hand.

Unless Watford also exercise the 'emergency' loan clause?
  • can't see king playing, the deal will still go through but the terms will change, would be shocked if a) king wanted to play b) aidy wanted him to
  • Marlon King charged with ABH and sexual assault, stands trial in a couple of weeks.
  • He has already done time for handling a stolen car, if he is found guilty of this he will be looking at a stretch.
  • To the tune of "My Old Man"

Oh Marlon King's a bad boy
At times he's been at fault
    With fights in casinos
    and a sexual assault.

    Allegedly.......
  • Sounds like a really nice bloke if true.

Premier League footballer Marlon King groped a young woman and then broke her nose when she rejected his advances at a celebrity nightclub, a court has heard.
The Wigan Athletic striker had allegedly shouted, "Don't you know who I am, I'm a millionaire", before "smashing her in the face with a clenched fist".
London's Southwark Crown Court heard his "completely gratuitous violence" came just minutes after he spotted the slightly-built 20-year-old at the Soho Revue Bar last December.
She was part of a group of "sporty type" friends "socialising, dancing and drinking" the evening away, and had never met the player before. Some of them "worked at a fitness centre, there was a footballer and also a sports journalist with a well-known TV company", said Roger Daniells-Smith, prosecuting.
He told jurors the 29-year-old defendant had not been part of their group and "none of them had invited him to join them". But that did not stop the married father-of-three from "sexually touching" the woman on her bottom, claimed counsel.
"It was neither welcome nor consensual, nor could he have thought that she was consenting to it," he said. "They were complete strangers to each other. It was not an accidental brushing, or innocent contact that occasionally happens in crowded bars. This was deliberate and sexual."
The barrister said when she pushed his hand away and he grabbed her wrist, she shoved him in the chest. "At that moment Marlon King took one step backward and smashed her in the face with a clenched fist. He broke her nose with the blow. It was a completely gratuitous piece of violence against a slightly-built female. It was unprovoked and could not have been an act of lawful self-defence," he said.
As security staff intervened and led him away the player allegedly told them: "Why? I've done nothing wrong."
King, who denies one count of sexual assault "by touching" and one of causing her actual bodily harm, insists he was the victim of "mistaken identity".
    The trial continues.

use the term 'premiership footballer' very losely !!, didn't he get done for something before when playing for the Gills?, or am I thinking of someone else?
  • From Wiki

His career was nearly derailed in 2002 when he was given an eighteen month prison sentence for handling a stolen car. After an appeal, the sentence was reduced to five months and King returned to Gillingham's team within two days of his release.

King's time at Hull City was beset with controversy. On 12 November 2008, he was involved in a fracas with teammate Dean Windass in a casino in Scarborough. King was alleged to have headbutted Windass following an argument. Hull City stated that the matter had been dealt with internally, and both players remained with the club.[9] Windass later described the incident as a "storm in a teacup".

On 5 December 2008, King was banned from driving for 56 days after being caught speeding at 106 miles per hour on a stretch of road with a speed limit of 60mph.

Football has a very poor record when it comes to disciplining players.

eg: Lee Hughes shouldn't be in any football team imho.
  • Marlon made a pass
    In some trendy place
    By grabbing a girl's ass
    And smashing in her face

Found guilty of sexually assualting a woman and actual bodily harm

    He's facing jail.

Coward tried to say mistaken identity.

Hope he gets sorted out in prison.
  • He will surely get a couple of years for that. Sad fact is he will serve half and will probs go back to another club. Wigan should sack him!
  • Send him down....This mug has had too many chances in life and wasted every one of them.
  • Got 18 months.

Seems quite a light sentence to me, especially as he has previous.

  • Scumbag, just heard what the judge said on ssn, seems he got it spot on regarding Kings character and personality!
  • Dave Whelan just confirmed he is sacked! He will still do a Lee Hughes and will be back in the game when out

but what is the payout to the victim could still be mistaken identity or even choosing him as the person even if it wasn't him as they knew he was pro footballer? Not saying that was the case but you know how it can be!

He was identified by several people, including an ex-teammate, hitting the woman. He's probably claiming mistaken identity because its the easiest thing to do if an incident has happened in a dark crowded nightclub.
  • One thing I've just realised about the story: "He was celebrating two occasions - his wife's latest pregnancy and the scoring of a winning goal - with a night out in the West End."

So he was celebrating his wife's pregnancy by trying to touch up other women. Words cannot describe how stupid this bloke is.
  • Best news I've heard all week. Cheerio ,cheerio, cheerio.
  • Bring back Capital punishment! :-)
  • So sexual and physical assault merits 18 months (in real terms 9 months).

No wonder this country is going down the pan.
  • what Len Glover said. Absolute joke sentence, no doubt he'll be arrogant enough to appeal straightaway. Scumbag.
  • The way I book it, a female member of your family is out in a bar, this bloke sexially assaults her then smacks her full in the face.

Then he has the cheek to lie in court claiming mistaken identity.

    What sentence would you expect?

Not 18 months that's for sure.

Also, whether people like it or not Marlon King's arrogance is what a lot of people think most footballers are actually like. Especially the less talented Premiership players.
