  • I really enjoyed Hancock!
  • Watched a film called Teeth the other day, quite a short film but found really hilarious for all the wrong reasons.

  • ONE TO WATCH AT HOME - If you havnt watch Pans Labyrinth yet then do, a brilliant mix of fantasy and the brutality of Franco's Spain , if you did and enjoyed it watch ' The Devils Backbone' by the same director.
  • Saw 3:10 to Yuma on Blu-ray last night. Very good film. Christiam Bale and Russell Crowe were really good in it. Hadn't watched a Western in many a year.
  • OK, saw Wall E last Friday, thought the first 35 minutes are about as good a bit of animation your ever likely to see, the second half is for the kid, but the end is a real gasp moment.

    and saw the Dark Knight, tonight, and my 3 feelings are;

    1. 30 to 40 minutes too long
    2. Has one too many moral dilemmas
    3. Gary Oldman is the star, Christian Bale just got on my nerves towards the end
  • Didn't particularly notice point 2 Rothko, but as for points one and three that's exactly what Mrs. Algarve and I said, couldn't agree more.

And what was the point in Cillian Murphy playing the Scarecrow, might as well have been me...
  • Really enjoyed 'In Bruges'. The coked up dwarf scene was fantastic.
  • Watched the Bank job last night. Really enjoyed it - a good British robbery involving some small time crooks - which is supposed to be a true story. Was there a book written about this job?

Weird to see Poirot acting as a porn king.. well i think it was him.

Hellboy II - glossy but not much of a plot, odd bit in the middle when they start singing.. not as good as first one
Mr Bean's Holiday - saw it last night, cringeworthy in places of course but not as bad as I thought.
Ghost Rider - managed to watch it all the way through at the weekend, and what an effort, possibly the worst film I've ever seen, closely followed by..
I could never be your woman - pish poor chick flick (the things we men do for brownie points eh)
Tenacious D and the pick of destiny - better than I thought, but you have to like ROCK..
Knocked up - somewhat above average Chick Flick

  • I want to see Hellboy 2 at some point soon.
  • Watch both The Happening & Strangers whilst away on holiday........both ok films, nothing special but better than watching x-factor or some other dull celebrity makeover show on telly.

On the plane they showed Iron Man which was crap - better entertainment watching people sleep.
  • Have got the Happening to watch and American Gangster. (obviously we met one of our friendly local DVD sellers in the pub last week).
  • Watched Son of Rambow the other day. Thought it was very good.

Does he have the initial A?

American Gangster, I thought it was average to be honest.
  • I thought The Happening was an absolute shocking film.

Originally thought it was being done as a "B Film" but then reliased it wasnt and how weak the script and acting was and turned it off 60mins in. Shame cos I normally love M. Night Shyamalan films.

B - Dont bother mate. Its awful

I really enjoyed that film, thought it was really clever and the french exchange student thing was a great sub plot
  • so both two negatives for happening and american gangster. Had heard american gangster was good.

er no Da9 - he didnt speak much english.
  • AG is good. Just not quite as good as you'd expect but still defo worth a watch.
  • like american gangster.

i bought Napolean Dynamite for Dec last week. even though it was on telly the week before. great film.

I made Dec watch Grease 2 the other week. can't say he's in a rush to watch that again.

Like Dark Knight. Got Girl with Pearl Earring for my birthday and thought it was a load of tosh. Also got All That Jazz but Dec won't watch it with me. :-(

Only one memorable song from that film, but it's a good'un - "Cool Rider"
  • suzi i think you got more of a chance of Dec watching it if it were entitled girl with a pearl necklace.
  • whoops just re-read that.. its all that Jazz dec wont watch. sorry.

It wasn't a bad film, just not as good as the hype, Eastern Promises as an English gangster fim (well Russians in London) is good

re-titled "All That Ji..." ? nah, maybe not ;o)
  • Mama mia,good.

Saw Get Smart yesterday - one or two funny bits, mainly those that appear in the trailer apart from that very little with Terence Stamp as the unconvincing slightly camp baddy - Basically Its Johnny English without the humour.

Also recently seen Star Wars - The Clone Wars. This really is scraping the barrel. That they managed to get somebody to do a passable impression of Ewan McGregor's odd portrayal of Obe Wan Kanobe was surreal. My son loved it, it was too loud for me to doze off which I so wanted to do.
