Hope all that have made the trip up there have a brilliant time, weather looks good and Kent seem to be favs on Sky Sports so hope we do well.. Good luck everyone... come on you Spitfires.
Not telling any of you anything you don't already know but Kent were absolute shyte.............so pissed off we didn't even stay to watch the final............utter utter rubbish of the first order.
Complete waste of time, effort and money..............should have gone to Hartlepool instead.
Hang on, thinking about it, if I'd have done that Kent would have won and Charlton would have lost.......naturaly......some days it's better just to stay in bed!
Rob key was rightly fumming at the end, him stevens and tredders were the only ones to come away with some pride, didn't like the laughing and smiling at the end by some of the players, still got to focus on getting back to div one now in both forms, will be interesting to see what happens when ford departs.
Looooong day for us. Decided to stay to watch the final & cheer on Sussex , but then feckin roadworks on the M6 & M1 forced us to take a breather in the Northants Services & didn't arrive back in Dartford until 2.15am !!!! No joke & the worst of ends to a disappointing day for us. We were seated in the RES Wyatt stand so didn't even get to meet any Lifers although we walked around the ground ....difficult when you don't know who you're looking for !!
Best bit of the day was hearing the score from Hartlepool . Another great win and really looking forward to Tues night now...Sir Bob's first match of the season though & he's hoping he's not a Jonah...!
Joe Denly named in the ODI squad for ODIs against Australia but no Rob Key who appears may have burnt his bridges following the spat with the coach over the 20/20 WC and his lack of a proper role in it.
Feel so sorry for Rob Key, I think he really had built his hopes up of a recall to the test squad. He should have captained England in the world T20 tournament not that idiot Collingwood. Only in England would such a stupid decision be taken.
Yes, a very disappointing day on Saturday. Best bits about it were sitting next to MOG and Mrs MOG (who is not miserbale, old-ish or a git so I'm going to start calling her Mrs-far-too-good-for-MOG in future!) and the score updates from Hartlepool.
Mind you, the first confused text message from a Charlton Lifer at Hartlepool (who shall remain nameless!) had us going. Terrible syntax led us to interpret it as they had scored from a ''f***in awful'' backpass by Burton...
Lovely moment when we got the text about the second goal. MOG stood up and declared loudly to the rest of the Eric Hollies stand in his best, clarion voice : ''TWO-NIL TO THE CHARLTON ! BURTON AND BAILEY!!!''

Just watching last night's game on Sky +. Great to see the old war "horse" Geoff Arnold on the Kent players balcony. Brings back memories of watching England when I was a kid.
[cite]Posted By: Addick Addict[/cite]Very good win for the boys considering we had so many 2nd X1 players playing. Northeast and Blake look great prospects.
Why did we have so many 2ndX1 players? Are Key and Denly injured?

Willis said that they were resting a number of first teamers because it was vital that we got promotion in the CC.

Thanks.
That makes sense I guess given that the Pro 40 finishes this season so other than pride it doesn't matter too much.
Not been a lot of posting on this thread since Saturday..little wonder really after the shyte we were served up and the massive dissapointment for those of us who went.....it's gonna take a week or two to get that out of our system.
