  • 4 batting points which all help. Get to 400 and get the 5th then push on for 500 if possible and try and bowl them out twice.

Middlesex are missing Morgan and Shah so a real chance of a win here if we play our cards right.
  • 369-4 90

    Stevens* 110
    Kemp* 14
  • 380-4 off 94 overs.

    Stevens* 120
    Kemp* 15.
  • Close: Day 1.

    Kent 390-4. 96 Overs.

    Stevens* 129
    Kemp* 16.

Middlesex have used 8 bowlers today.
  • Just back from Uxbridge and a great day for Kent.

To add to my pleasure,I watched us piling up the runs sitting next to Charlton (non-playing) legend Peter 'Scoop' Burrowes , and in between admiring Kent's batting, we chatted happily about Charlton's dream start to the season.

It's only a tenner addmission (five quid cheaper than when Middx play at Lords) so do come along. Free on the fourth day, as well, which , may well be the day that Kent secure promotion - although I guess you'll all be at the Valley watching Pardew get what he deserves!
  • Hopefully going Friday..........if she lets me !
  • See you there, MOG. I'll have my eldest (adult) son with me and two very good friends who have the misfortune to be exiled in Essex but are Kent/Charlton fans good-and-true, plus 'Scoop' will be there again so there will be a warm welcome awaiting you as we put Middlesex to the sword!
  • Was listening on BBCLondon94.9 today.
They said Stevo was faultless til the last ball.............

    (was dropped at slip).

If we can win this one with maximum points and Glamorgan and Essex draw (first day today of their game) then mathematically WE ARE GOING UP SAY WE ARE GOING UP

EDIT: 469-4 keep going lads! Stevens 166*
  • 518-4 122.1.

  • Hope Stevens gets his career best, 208 is his current top score.
  • Lunch:

    Kent 536-4 128 Overs.

    Stevens 187 not out
    Kemp 91 not out.
  • I reckon he'll give Stevens the chance to get his 200 and Kemp his 100 for half an hour or so after lunch then declare.
  • 596 for 5 stevens double centuary come on you kent..
  • 606-6 Tredders out for 19.

Stevens got 208 which equalled his career best.
  • Still no sign of a declaration...

Presumably Key is carrying on and is aiming to set a big total and win by an innings.

It must be a belter of a batting track or small boundaries or both.

641-6 at the moment I reckon he'll declare at tea now which is 3:10 pm

    652-7 Azhar out

    EDIT: He has declared.
  • A truly demoralising total for Middlesex to chase. Unless they get off to an absolute flyer they're already playing for a draw
  • They need 500 to avoid the follow on, I think we will get 10 points minimum for this.
