Do we bring our own axes?
  • [cite]Posted By: suzisausage[/cite]I'll help! Get the fans forum involved too!

    Thanks Suzi and everyone else.

As I said I personally think it would be useful to have the Fans' Forum guys involved. Hope Terry or Dave see this but can always email them later.
  • Con Club is absolutely fine by me - and of course I am more than happy to get involved as I have one or two contacts where trust stuff is concerned - would agree that a match day is probably not the best idea but the upstairs hall would be ideal as far as such a meeting would go. If a trust finally gets supporters groups singing from a similar hymn sheet as far as the bigger issues are concerned then all power to its elbow.

    Thanks for that, Ian.

Anyone got a suggestion for when?
  • 4th or 5th august? or do you want it sooner?

That would be fine if others can make it. Would need to check if the guy from Supporters' direct is free either night.
  • Hadnt we better wait & see whats occuring? Or do you know something?

Personally I think whatever happens the Trust could have a role.
  • 4th or 5th ideal with us - darts team are away on the Tuesday!

  • Have e-mailed apprx 30 trusts - we'll see what they have to say. Leeds have responded already !!
4th or 5th at the Con club sounds fine to me.
  • I'd be willing to help out wherever I could.
  • I am happy to do what it takes,
  • I would like to attend the meeting.

Current personal circumstances rule out any significant active involvement.
  • I think its an excellent initiative, Henry, and good on you for proposing it. I agree that it would be great to get the FF involved, even to build it outwards from that.

With hindsight we should have set it up a few years ago. I personally was seduced by the idea that we had such an ideal Board - Fan relationship that we didn't need it, and bitterly regret my naivety.

Obviously I'm not much practical use, but I'll find a way to help at some stage.

I think there are people on the notorious Mailing List who would support it
  • Sounds a good idea in principle, Henry. I'm printing off the stuff from the website and will read it thoroughly later - back afterwards.

I blame the last supporters' Director. Oh, hang on minute : - )

Please put this up on the mailing list (or any of the other message boards) but could anyone who does that stress that I'm not leading on this and don't intend to have a major, or any role, as and when it gets going.

I don't want my small involvement to deter anyone from doing something that could be really positive for the fans and clubs
  • just done the same as Fanny. Would definately attend the initial meeting and then see where it leads. Think it is a great idea though.
  • Yeah.... interested same reason as Prague suggested.
About time the fans got organised......

Let us know when you are meeting will come along.

Well I think the best person for the job should fill each individual role. If that’s you then that’s fine. It’s a democratic organization so no one person can influence it in a particular way. Henry for chair and Nick Gray for president, that would be strong leadership !

I have posted this up on the 606 board and some one has already come back saying that they are a long term fan and a proofreader which is a skill which would be of use.

Thanks for posting it on 606.

Personally I think it's the time for some fresher people with some fresher ideas and a clean slate to take it forward.
  • "fresher people"..................?

    Thats me out then.................;-(
  • I'll bet a fiver the meeting gets cancelled...
  • I'll do what I can, I can do meetings. I have no IT skills, communication skills, Diplomacy, Tact or any other skill, but I have a passion Charlton Athletic put me down for something? I'll do Curb_it's filing.
  • I'm definitely interested. and i can do the 4th or 5th august.

I've got no problem doing admin-y stuff either, or whatever 'less glamorous' stuff i can do to help.
  • I'm in loads of free time sadly.. would love to help would look good on my cv too.
  • thanks everyone

Meeting is tuesday 4 August at the conservative club in Charlton Church Lane.
