[cite]Posted By: budgie[/cite]It was family day, and very pleasent to see a few extra people there, although I'm waiting for addickted to turn up with the actual attendance.
Family day wouldn't add that many cause everyone knows your father is your brother and your sister is your mother!!!!!!!!!!
Ah, it's nice to see the old Charlton classics havn't been forgotten.
I heard the theme of this family day was "Bring a Scarf"
No lie, I stumbled across a local Croydon paper on a train the other day - Bring a scarf. The Sainsbury's end must have looked like the Liverpool Kop back in the 80s.
Perhaps the Orange One is thinking of moving into knitwear rather than property ?

I took my son to his first game on Saturday, and for now, atleast, he still believes " we are by far the greatest team the world has ever seen"........I have not got the heart to tell him the truth, I think I'll just let the years of struggle wear him down.........like it did me! :-)

Parents have a lot to answer for when it come to inflicting their choices on their siblings. :-)

I failed as a parent.
My son said,"I'm not going to watch that rubish". Given the crap few seasons we've had I could see where he was coming from.
He still remains a "supporter" and has never watched another club.

Well I felt I had to put down a marker for his footballing future, or he would have been swallowed up by premier league hype (may yet still be). I have had to endure this dross for many years so why should he got off lightly........it'll be good for the boy, charachter building!
I've now reached the point where I am really happy with where Palace are in the football foodchain and if we were to suddenly to become man city'ized it would ruin it for me (fat chance I hear you say).......and he will grow to love it.................he just does not know it yet! :-)
Yeah. I both love and hate my dad for getting me hooked on Charlton. Years of abuse at school from my palace mates and the occasional kicking from the Millwall remedial lot have definately scarred me for life. But the Lennie years plus Curb's reign, not to mention the inspirational Eddie Firmani have made it all worth while.
It seems to me that Palace aren't playing any of their players that have a value. Carle, Moses, Scannell and Clyne should be the first names on the sheet, but rarely seem to play. Is it because they can't afford to play them in case they get injured and then they won't be able to sell them in January?
NB I noticed Warnock was touting Speroni this week for the Premiership. Every week it's a different player who he says is good enough to be in The Prem and he hopes they don't get any offers LOL.
Re Carle below, they can't pay Brizzle money that is owed and perhaps they have to stump up more if he makes further appearances (like Christiansen).
Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has confirmed the club will listen to offers for out-of-favour midfielder Nick Carle in the New Year.
The Australia international was a regular in his first season following a £1million move from Bristol City, but his appearances have been limited so far in the new campaign.
The 27-year-old has made just four Championship appearances off the bench this season and Warnock concedes it would be better for him if he secures regular football elsewhere.

Nor will they be as far as you lot are concerned!
