Saw 'soul pioneers' Kokomo at the Half Moon, Putney, twice last week. I had their album in the mid seventies, and was relieved to see they had seven of the original members on stage. They were great imvho. They played this Bobby Womack song (was also on the album). They've toured with the Average White Band during various reformations. https://youtu.be/sCqkibt0WQc
Includes a stunning version of What a Wonderful World
went to my uncle's funeral last week in Cheltenham .. no hymns for old Stan (died aged 94) .. What a Wonderful World (Louis A version) was his song of choice .. the intro/outro music was some French accordion stuff .. very original ((:>)
A reminder of one of the most neglected but best bands of their era, the late 60s/early 70s .. excuse the long track .. live, one of the best Brit Blues Bands .. Savoy Brown https://youtu.be/qlqqeobOJvg
