Just off to watch Kent v Essex. Can't wait. Well I can really, we're going to Shepherd-Neames in Faversham first :-)
Perhaps, given that KO isn't for over seven hours, it would better for those not at the game or watching it on TV not to rely on "live" updates from you ;-)
There I was getting excited for tomorrow as I have a day off. With the test match, World Cup and Us Open and then I find out that kent are on tele tonight aswell! Happy days!
Essex win by 6 wickets with 6 balls to spare. Bopara with a match winning 81* but a combination of mid innings stutter and dropped catches meant Kent had chances to win and really should've taken at least some of them.

You can't drop Ten Doeschate twice and Bopara once and expect to win. I thought Bopara was excellent though, best batsman on show.

Indeed, Brian.
Just back from the match & feeling pretty disappointed with the outcome but kamikaze fielding & an inspired Bopara was the difference between the teams.
Probably a decent match for Sky viewers tonight - that's a positive - but galling to be there & see victory handed to the Essex boys by Kent's inadequacies.
Men v Boys in some ways, and Essex had a captain that continually moved his field around during overs whilst RK 's men were static throughout IYKWIM. But what do I know about the finer points of the game ?

Essex need 25 from 18, Kent need to get Bopara out.

Not impressed, I'm afraid.
