  • Following today's results we are now the only County from the 18 to remain unbeaten in the comp. We still require the one win from our last two matches to be certain of qualifying for the QFs but those two points would also guarantee us a home fixture.

And despite their wealth (of talent and youngsters) it's also now impossible for Surrey to qualify. They remain rooted to the bottom and are the only side in the comp without a win to their name ;-)

Your getting excited over the Johnstones paint trophy of cricket! None of the big clubs take it seriously! Surrey have used it to blood even more youngsters than have been playing all year.. and top them up with the senior ayers who aren't getting in he first team much any more.. so don't wet your pants guys...

I'm afraid that is complete and utter rubbish on all fronts. Your team today had one player under 25. And four players over 35 - Dilshan, Solanki, Batty and Mahmood. Of those only Mahmood didn't play in your last defeat in the CC (against us) and that's because he is purely a one day "specialist". Unless, of course, the CC doesn't count either in the great scheme of things.

So don't let the facts get in the way of the delusional belief that Surrey are going places. Because they aren't. Well not up anyway.

That particular game wasn't the best of examples.. but if you look at the tournament as a whole we have put out seriously weakened teams! The majority of that team would not play in our t20 team.. and no where near our first team for one dayers! Our youngsters have been seriously hampered by injuries of late.. to highlight this Curran injured his ankle was having physio in a pool and slipped and fractured his elbow.. The rest of our young players are actually good enough to get In England lions or age group teams...

So don't let one game when we're out of the tournament so is a dead rubber for us get in the way of how we have gone through out the tournament...

Haven't you just contradicted yourself? You say you haven't taken the tournament seriously and then say you put out a weakened team because you're out of the tournament. Which is it?

You've gone out of the tournament because you've been abjectly hopeless in not managing to win a single game.

With regards to your reference to the Johnstone Paint Trophy, I don't recall ever seeing every single round of that tournament being televised by Sky or all the Premier League teams in the country competing in it.

Still, I'm sure we'll see their current run of form turned on its head when they win the County Championship and the T20 comps. But, in the unbelievable event that they don't, I fully expect you to explain it away with another load of excuses.
  • looked on the BBC site for tonight's results, the only headline for men's game is that Yorkshire have breezed into quarter finals, they are one of three teams on 10 points in their group, obviously they are massive though. No headlines for Kent, despite the fact we lead out table by 4 points and have qualified with a home draw next. it reminds me of when CAFC were in the premier league.

Oh dear.....methinks you protest too much ( what's new?)

Must be those sour grapes you're still consuming and the fact that you live in close proximity to all those happy Kent supporters !

  • For the first time in the comp, Surrey have actually picked a side packed with youngsters and certainly players lacking a degree of first team experience - namely Kapil, Sibley, Edwards, Winslade and Van Den Bergh.

Which is all very typical of the arrogance of the County - "We're out so we're going to use our remaining games to "blood" our kids."

It is also totally disrespectful to the other teams competing if it weren't for the fact that we know from cantersaddick that their kids are all brilliant. So, we can fully expect them to beat Durham today.

If they don't, then I might report Surrey to the ECB as their rules clearly state:

"All Counties shall field a full strength team in all matches in the LV County Championship, the Nat West T20 Blast and the Royal London One-Day Cup."

    Link here:

    static.ecb.co.uk/files/rules-for-ecb-competitions-12779.pdf

Though I suspect my complaint will get thrown out anyway on the basis that Surrey's defense will be that they couldn't win a game no matter what team they put out ;-)

    BRILLIANT!!
  • I know cantersaddick will be especially disappointed to learn that I might not be on here too much in the course of the next week as I'm off with the wife to watch Seb represent Kent in the U11 Festival at Taunton.

Five games in five days commencing Saturday against Cornwall, Berkshire, Gloucester, Lancashire and last but not least, of course it had to be, Surrey.
