Disappointing but Hampshire look to be getting back on track after a poor run themselves. When you look at their team they should be top of the table. I still reckon Hampshire and Worcestershire will go up quite easily in the end.
I couldn't figure Darren Stevens out. Needing to bat as long as possible to try and save a draw and he is smashing it about all over the place like a T20 game.

He probably realised that there was little likelihood of them batting all day. Sometimes attacking the bowling can push fields back but Hampshire's attack was always likely to bowl us out in four sessions. Hopefully will return to winning ways against Glamorgan at the end of the month.
I wonder if now is the time for Sam Northeast to take over as Captain from Rob Key. His batting form was good as captain and he captained the team well which coincided with some very good results. With his injuries and I'm sure a job pending on Sky, whether Rob Key may call it a day at the end of the season.
Back from Taunton and whilst Seb did contribute in being selected for all five matches it's safe to say that the week didn't work out from him on a personal level. He did, however, have a fantastic time rooming and bonding for the first time with team mates and dare I say spending some serious time away from his Mum and Dad.
However, the team played some great cricket and finished runners up to Lancs, our only conquerors in a low scoring game where we had to defend a total of just 113. The boys pushed them all the way though and Lancs didn't actually reach the target 'til the 41st of the 45 overs.
The highlight has to be though the final match against good old Surrey. Set to chase 175 off just 40 overs we chased it down with a massive 4 balls to spare. Never in doubt ;-)
It is all an experience for him AA and will probably benefit him in non cricketing ways.
Thanks MOL I'm sure he will also come back a better cricketer for it too.
One of the threads has just reminded me of what Seb told us in the car last night one of the incidents on the trip so, as most normal people probably won't have opened that particular thread (unlike myself to re-tell the story!) I will repeat it here:
My 11 year old son has just come back from the Taunton cricket Festival representing Kent against five other counties.
On Tuesday night the Kent coach, who is from Zimbabwe, invited his friend Henry Olonga to talk to the squad about his cricketing and life experiences.
Of course, Henry is also famed for his singing and was asked by the coach if he would mind giving a rendition of one song which he was happy to do accapella style. Just two bars into the song you guessed it one of the boys absolutely let rip which in turn led to all the boys laughing hysterically. Henry asked the boy if he needed to go somewhere but the boy turned the opportunity down only to repeat the dose a minute later.
Bet Henry's never had a reaction to one of his performances quite like that!
We will be home to Gloucs in the Royal London QF next Friday (2.00 start).
Ooooh , thanks , AA !!
Will definitely make this one, weather permitting.
That's the kiss of death if ever I heard one though...sorry!
I'm sure we will be fine. The curse of Fanny is well and truly buried!
Sadly (and I do mean this 'cos I hate hols) we will be on a cruise from Saturday to Saturday so can't make it but will be there on Sunday to witness the delights of the CC - the Performance Squads Presentation day.

Good luck to young Seb AA.
Defeat beckons after our little purple patch sadly. I'll be amazed if the last 4 wickets can bat through 2 sessions for the draw.
Lost by 196 runs.
All out 191 after 43.1 overs

Great servant to the County and wish him the best of luck.

Very worried about Friday at the moment, our batsmen aren't really firing and our bowling line up just shouts village cricket to me without bollinger.
Kent win toss and decide to bat.
Let's hope Billings can keep up his average in this competition (119 !!)
