  • Are you watching surrey/Essex/sussex? :)

Warwickshire away is tough but we can beat anyone on our day
  • Just home from the match & obviously foiled the curse by actually attending in person !!!

GREAT game - well, enjoyed it more when Mitch finally took the last wicket ! Nip & tuck all the way whilst we had one eye on the brooding black clouds that kept appearing ...but a battling performance from Kent's young guns, esp Sam Billings ( MOTM) and FAB Cowdrey , as I call him. Plus good to see Ben Harmison showing a deal of character with his bowling & fielding following his duck.

Not sure whether we'll make the semi next Thursday but if not, will be glued to Sky Sports for the duration.

Now for a winning double tomorrow !

    COYA & COYS ( Spitfires) !!!
  • what a shame its not next weekend when we haven't got a game
  • why aren't cricket semi finals on a neutral ground?

    Simple...money.
  • Same old Kent!

We had Glamorgan at 183-7 then let the off the hook. 312-9 and counting
  • Glamorgan all out 329. 4 wickets for Mitch Claydon
  • Went today as it was the Performance squads Presentation day.

The one thing I have to say is how bemused I was by the strip being right on the edge of the square resulting in an incredibly short boundary on one side. Wouldn't fancy that if I was bowler!

After an hours play we had them at 7-3 off 15 overs. With the score on 15 Adam Riley dropped Cooke at second slip off Stevens when he was just 2. Thank God Cooke only went on to make 171 ;-(

So, what could have been a very good one ended up as being an ordinary one but I would still maintain that with the boundary where it is that total of 329 is still below par.

    We can but hope, AA

    91-2 Harmison out for 10. Nash and D B-D in. D B-D 30*

    EDIT: Score at lunch above.
  • 135-2. D B-D just reached 50. Nash 33*.
  • 144-3. Nash gone for 40.
  • 174-4. D B-D out for 71. Northeast 11*.

    Trail by 155.
  • Should avoid the follow on hopefully and even get a batting bonus point

There's me still expecting a lead Len ;-)

I just think the tail is a bit long. Claydon can tonk it around on a good day but he's not a number 8 and Hunn, Joseph and Riley could conceivably be dismissed in 3 balls on a bad day!
  • Has anyone told our lads where the short boundary is ?

Clearly not Fanny 'cos we're now on 205-4. I would expect us to get that in a T20 with a boundary that short and not 77 overs for goodness sake.

  • It's raining, raining in my heart so still 205-4 and play abandoned for the day.
  • 218-5. Stevens gone for 30. Northeast still there on 25 off 76 balls.
  • 258-5. Northeast reaches 50 and Billings 15*.
  • We should get 300 and a third batting point all being well.

Steady on Len, you'll be saying we could get a first innings lead next ;-)

  • 308-5 and just 21 behind - Northeast 74* and Billings 39*.

That's six of our top seven to get 30 plus which, coupled with Cooke's 171, goes to show there is very little in this track. And that a short boundary should be targeted!

    333-5 Northeast 82* Billings 56*

369-6 Billings out for 77 and a stand of 151 and a lead of 40.

    Northeast now 99*.

Northeast has his ton now 372-6 Northeast 100*

Claydon in with him with Hunn, Joseph and Riley to come.

I suspect that will be actually Joseph, Hunn, Riley.
  • 373-7. Claydon out now.
