  • Less than a month til the next Iron Man. First was excellent, second not so much, but this one is written and directed by Shane Black who did Lethal Weapon and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, him and Downey Junior are a great team.
  • Sweeney awful pish
Beasts of the southern wild tedious
Cockneys vs zombies canon ya undead cants, brilliant
    Oz, marvellous proper film making

My Week with Marilyn.....didnt fancy this, but what a good film it turned out to be.....another wonderful performance from Michelle Williams who played a very good Marilyn, and another good performance from Eddie Redmayne too.

Agreed. I really enjoyed this. Didn't expect it to be as good as it was.
  • Saw Stolen this morning. Cage on hilarious form. Awful film. Can't believe there were a dozen people who thought "I can't wait to see the latest one-word title, tax man-dedicated Nic Cage movie, I'll go see it on Friday morning!"

  • You mean his brother William. It was very good though.
  • Recently watched Argo, very good film.
  • Saw Parker last Saturday. I like Jason Statham but it never really hit the spot. 7/10.

For an old bird pushing mid forties yes. I would.
  • Just seen an ad trailer for Fast and Furious 6. Stretching this franchise a bit, if they carry on making them it will be spaceships they will be racing!
  • Just watched Bela Tarr's 'The Turin Horse' a season long losing run would be in comparison cheery, it is of course quite brilliant, but its a rather desperate picture of the future of humanity.

Holy Motors. Almost gave up on it 20 minutes in as I thought it was going to be a really wierd art house flick but stuck with it as I was intrigued as to where and what was going on. The main character rides around Paris acting out various tasks using a limousine as his mode of transport/office.
  • Saw the new Danny Boyle movie Trance last week. Started promisingly with a twist on the usual heist theme but soon disappeared up it's ownbackside. In the end I didn't really care about the main character or the Rosario Dawson character.

Shame really that they wasted the massive talents of Vincent Cassell who wasn't really given anything much of a script to work with.

Some really big holes in the plot too...
  • Finally got to see The Hobbit...really enjoyed it after all the poor reviews I read.

Loved "The Amazing life of Timothy Green.

  • Just seen the 2012 remake of Red Dawn. Complete and utter tosh from start to finish.
  • not a latest release, but Momento is on TV this week - one of the best films in the last 10 yrs - make sure you watch it.
  • It's not new either, but watched Boogie Nights last night and holy cow, what a film! Might just make it in to my top 10 films of all time. If you can, check it out! Paul Thomas Anderson's best film in my opinion (yes, better than there will be blood)
  • Thought Jack the Giant Slayer was pretty good on 3D Imax.

Took my son to GI Joe in 3D at the O2 on friday. I had a good sleep !
BTW, if you are going to cinema at O2 , get the D-Box seats - they are brill (unless you want some sleep!) - also, make sure you get your ticket stamped for free parking - dont get sucked into paying 28 pounds for concert parking - gulp !

I did exactly the same . I slept through the first hour which is not easy because its a loud movie !
  • Oh dear guys , your not selling GI Joe to me , my 2 lads want to go and see it.
  • Reign of fire, not new but a good watch with Gerrard Butler, Christian Bale and Matthew Mconnaghey.
  • Went to see GI Joe with my 2 sons, didn't fall asleep in the first half an hour, it was alright, 7 out if 10 maybe, definately one to see if you've got kids that like action movies, not really a film for adults as its too far fetched, leave your brain at the door.
  • The Place Beyond The Pines

Good film ... Ryan Gosling excellent and a great role for Ray Liotta
  • Went to see Oblivion with Tom Cruise, as IMDB said the landscapes were cracking but the plot a little thin, more of a futuristic love story.
  • Sightseers is a brilliantly dark and funny film. It will make you look at caravaners in a very different light !

  • Went to see Oblivion and thought it was really good......and Olympus has Fallen....very "Die Hard" but also very enjoyable with non stop action and violence...another good Gerard Butler film.
