[cite]Posted By: Stebo[/cite]so he's still our player then according to that story. amazed we didn't cash in on him... unless of course there never was a £1m offer from wigan or blackburn.

Is reading that hard? If he can't get a work permit in the UK, how in the hell could he have signed for wigan, blackburn or in fact any other country??!?!?!

No English club is going to fork out for a player until he is entitled to work here.

Not exactly true, Arsenal have a number of players out on loan at Spainish clubs till they can get work permits.

For example Carlos Vela was signed when he was about 17 and was loaned to 2 or 3 Spainish teams till he could get a UK permit.

they do it all the time. as Plaayer said, Arsenal for example have bought a few players without permits; Vela, pedro botelho and they've have just signed another young player called Galindo for 500k. Chelsea paid almost £4m for Slobodan Rajkovic, eventhough he couldn't get a work permit. he has spent the last 3 years in holland on loan. It's a gamble, but if that player turns out to be a superstar in the making, then it's well worth it.

I can't however think of an example of an English team buying a player who doesn't have a work permit from another English team. I'm not sure if that makes a difference mind-you.

No track of him with Nantes. They're playing tonight, will monitor, be very surprised if he's there.

Seriously, what exactly is the evidence that this guy exists?

I can't believe we managed to loan out a pretend person! Saying that, we've managed to sign plenty of pretend footballers before!!

But I'm pretty sure God is in Wikipedia... Not so sure about Football Manager though.

Has really played for Angers for two seasons and their fans were really sorry to see him "return from loan" to Charlton. He's bound to show up somewhere soon.

So he does exist! It's on the OS.
  • Options
Amazed by this. Sound's like we have long term ambitions for this fella. Hope he has a good season at Nantes.
  • Options
Lol - main story on OS.
  • Options
Good to get some clarification, even if they do call him a midfielder and a forward (assume he's a forward?)
  • Options
I don't think the OS would have put up this information if we had no interest in using him as a player in the future.

So how much longer is it before he qualifies for a UK work permit?

3 weeks after his 37th birthday

Saw the headline on Newsnow and expected it to be Tuna to a random BSS club.

Good to see some confirmation from the club.
  • Options
There must be someone on here who understands why we cant get a permit for him, if the lad is as good as stated then why the hell aint he here shooting us out of this cack league

French head researcher for FM has confirmed this. He also says Nantes have an option to buy him.

The article says he is a midfielder, but the main headline is striker goes out on loan

    D'oh

So basically we'll be selling him before he even appears for us then!
  • Options
Very strange that we are finally acknowledging him on the OS just as we apparently agree to sell him....

Oh well, it's effectively free money as he is never going to play for us. Quality on FM though
  • Options
We haven't agreed to sell him, I'd imagine it's just "a loan with a view to a permanent move" as they say over here. We've seen enough times loans like that don't always turn into permanent moves.

Get the feeling we'll probably never see him play for us but he's still our player so there's still a chance.

Interview on the Nantes site. Not a very good translation though.

Scoham IS FM. He runs the whole thing, writes the programme, the lot.

Interesting news for a team that has found itself in the Championship without a pot to wee in and no obvious means of getting shot of Shizzle and Yassin

haha. No I just do the Charlton research. And no it's not a job, fans of the game and their team do a lot of the research.

Some are actually scouts, there is or was one scouting for a non-league club that I know of. I'd imagine some of the foreign researchers are scouts for clubs as well.

Is he still under contract with us? If he is then has gone on loan again this season?
