edited February 2011 in General Charlton
why did the two young lads get thrown out at half time in the north upper by 6 or 7 stewards, all a bit over the top if you ask me

  • How do you know if you don't know what they did?
  • They Booed at half time. ;-)
  • it was over the top as in seven stewards escorting two children , thats what i meant henry
  • they actually spilt someones beer charging them through the crowded concourse
  • The A Team were on the move again half a dozen handed through block B west lower near the end as well.

Sometimes I think our stewards have watched too many bloody films, they blew their loads at the thought of bullying the 2 dozen peterboro teenagers dancing down the front as well.
  • They go in in numbers for a reason. If just two go in the people might fancy their chances and have a go. By having big numbers people are more likely to come quietly.
  • they are by large, no-good bullies. FACT

this i wasnt there today but some of their behaviour is well over zealous at times, they are almost itching to go in and grab, and mostly they seem to go into teenagers, when they had the opportunity to go in to the colchester fans they shit it, and it had to be because they were grown men.

if they went in to older people like they do the younger elemant they would get a different response

I saw the Peterborough kids at the front, our stewards were pathetic, it was just a group of kids having a good time, you would have thought it was football factory part 2 by the way they reacted.

Agree with this ... it was bloody ridiculous ... they were no threat and just having fun

  • I'm no fan of stewards but the abuse they got in the NU toilets at half time from the 30 odd smoking in there was a bit OTT, I was trying to get my little'un to the toilet and none of them (fans) would move at all, I nearly lost it.

the two who got thrown out drank in the Con Club before the game, one of them threw his beer over the steward (it wasn't spilt) and when they were being ejected their mates were embarrassing, given it the biggun without actually doing anything at all - the stewards must've just laughed at them (I did)

there were at least 100 in that possee who turned up 15 minutes into the first half , they were still giving it when 3-1 down ... fairplay and respect to peterburrowes boys

thought it was a good turnout today , my friends son was in the posh end and he said that u-18s tickets were £5 in the away end today

I agree when a bit of authority is needed they shy away, they need to be more appropriate in their response, let the kids have a good time but put there foot down when dealing with the above.
  • I would hate to be an away fan coming to The Valley because our stewards have a terrible reputation for being over aggressive with opposition supporters.
Bless them and their yellow hi vis socks. They do look like they are enjoying themselves anyway.
  • Always best (inmyopinion) to hear 2 sides of a story before saying it was the stewards/fans fault.
Then throw out anyone who sings the "Adams family" song to anyone except Norwich or Plymouth.
  • Did anyone see the steward and the person working in wimpy before the colchester game having and argument?
the wimpy worker was getting annoyed with the steward because she didnt believe that S Smith was her real name
I just stood there laughing at how stupid the argument was

Nope but i did more than notice the pretty girl serving in the one in the north upper who had a cracking rack who's trousers kept falling down. Jesus Christ Powell has even raised the standards in that department too!

Maybe but sometimes it looks totally ridiculous. Today in the East 8 (Eight) stewards turned up to chuck out a fella who brought a pint back to his seat for the 2nd half. Ok we all know that's not allowed but this bloke was 70 if he was a day. Maybe he was just a day tripper and didn't know the rules. He should have been stopped on his way back to his seat. I don't know the full circumstances but it looked absolutely ridiculous.
I would suggest that as the Posh weren't causing any problems our over zelous stewards needed to go for the home fans. Saw another snatch squad run past the benches and into the West Lower in the 2nd half.

And we all hate bullies don't we?
  • The lads were escorted out for having an under 18s season ticket (as they bought it when they were 17). They are 18 now and all had I.D, they were having a beer at half time and the stewards said "your not allowed to drink in the ground with an under 18s season ticket, whether your 18 or not"

How did the stewards know they had U18 ST? Were they waving them about or something?
Also, thats a bit strange. If the ST's are ok AND they have ID now they are 18 whats the problem?

How do they work that one out then because I'm pretty sure if you are Under 18 on about the 31 August or whatever you can buy an U-18 season ticket?

so technically you could be 18 now and legally drink whilst entering the ground with an U-18 s/t?
  • The stewards came over and asked them to show there tickets and not their ID.

The stewards annoy me when they go penis peeping in the gents toilet, have a right good look round they do. Might make a formal complaint about it soon as I'm sure there's a law against this. 'Cottaging' I think it's called.
  • [cite]Posted By: leecafc[/cite]The stewards came over and asked them to show there tickets and not their ID.

But why does it matter if they qualified for U18 an ST and were old enough to drink?
    Surely thats all above board.

Because stewards are kids that were bullied at school and wear a high vis jacket with an official badge to go on a power trip and turn the tables on others.

If that story is true it's crazy.
  • Were those posh fans that came in late dancing and singing the ones that were on soccer am. Saw they were wearing replica kits. Probably on a high after a fun morning.
  • wasn't tony jiminez head of security at chelsea or something? maybe their trying to prove themselves to the new boss? i know its unrelated but the amount of people leaving the valley on stretchers at the moment is amazing.

Been doing it for a long time long before TJ came
  • My friend was the person kicked out, Totally pathetic, he even showed the stewards his ID and they weren't having none of it, we all went with as couldn't leave a mate alone, and missed a great second half as I hear! Has had his season ticket confiscated also, total shambles.
