Just wondering if people think this will sell out before general sale, as I study at Exeter uni but don't have a season ticket any more, so can't buy on restricted sale?

  • Definitely not, we will sell 1300 but not before the general sale.

Other than that go in the Exeter end

I am concerned that this might sell out before I get a chance to get a ticket. This is my local match being just an hours drive. Home stand if necessary but not wanting to go there. Difficult to cheer a Kermi hat trick in the home stand.
  • £17 to stand ... ouch!

We've still sold less than 1,300 for Sheffield Wednesday so there's no chance of us selling this out before the tickets go on general sale. You'll be fine.

On another note, me and some friends are staying down there for this one. Tellytubby and Matt, can you recommend any decent bars/clubs? Nothing too studenty as we're mostly in our (early) 30s. Cheers.

Best bet on a Saturday is probably time piece, the bottom level is bar/pub with decent outside area and a club up stairs if your up for it. Else I'd reccomend firehouse if you fancy a long session the booze is cheap, they have live music and do good food. Their famous pizzas after 9pm are worth going for alone but get their early cause it's always rammed. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I went down without a ticket knowing we'd sold out before, and got in, so you should be ok!

Exeter is shit for a night out, we tried having one down there in the 1st season, ended up getting the train back to the station nearest the hotel at 11pm. Exmouth seems more decent tbh

I'll be driving from SE Cornwall - nearest game, appx an hour away.

Might bring the missus to give her that "old-fashioned football" experience as she's only ever seen football in luxury from the Valley west stand.
  • I'm in Cornwall (Falmouth ) that weekend.

Wondering whether it's worth the 2 hour drive to the game, or to play golf that afternoon.

Matt-thanks for your feedback, we'll keep both of those places in mind and I may resurrect this thread nearer the time to enlist more of your advice. Wherever we end up, we'll have a good time I'm sure.

Dave Storry: we've only spent a few years in the third tier in our 100+ year existence so you can't have seen that much! Screw the golf and drive to Exeter!

    Just for you mate.
  • Is the train station right next to the ground?
  • St James Park station is, which is a branch line about 6 mins from Exeter St Davids. I think trains are every 30 mins.

Got 3 tickets so far, probably looking for another couple on the day.

Look on the O/S under tickets - then rail travel - the train times are there under the Exeter A info.
  • Cheers ticket booked!

Great Western trains is the recognised route from Paddington. From Waterloo on the NSE card will get you there in 3 1/2hrs for about £30 return

  • Thanks Elf , paid a little more than you quoted , should have waited!
