  • how about most weeks at the top?
  • Pitch invasions in a season?
  • much earlier in 2000 - seven games to go I think (which was just in time for the traditional end of season slump)
From what I can see 2000 was April 22nd with 3 games left to play
  • looking at the results wasn't it six games to go at Forest?
  • That sounds about right. We drew 4 and lost 3 of the last 7. I think the first of that sequence was Port Vale on the 4th/5th and that put us in a position where a win at Forest would have got us promoted on the 8th. But we didn't actually get the 3rd point until Blackburn (by which time it wasn't needed any more)
  • How many League doubles are we on so far?

I believe 9 is the target to beat?

i make it 7 so far, with another 3 maybe.

  • On course, then!

The record that I'd really like to see set is 100 points.

That wraps up the title, as well as ensuring new records in many of the remaining categories.

  • One for all those single-tracked journalists to consider: Does our promotion make CP the league's most successful ever black manager?
  • clean sheets at half-time: 29

  • Beautiful
  • Quite amazing when you think about it and that at no time have we really trounced anybody .
  • totally agree Beds !! today we could & should have scored 4 or 5 - and that could have been repeated half a dozen times this season. Shame really, as the goal difference stat could easily have been beaten.

Never mind - i'll take it as it is !!!!!!!
  • It still could be

We trounced a fair few teams early in the season.
  • OK, I have a pair to be checked out............What about the longest number of games without a goal less draw and the least number of games where we have failed to score in a season which currently stands at 4.
  • I think our longest run without a 0-0 draw is about 82 games, it started with a 0-0 against Oldham, when they parked the coach in front of their goal at The Valley at the beginning of the season. Then towards the end of the following season we drew 0-0 against, you guessed it, Oldham .

  • Incredible ...what a season

  • possibly wrong thread but can som-one confirm what is the record points for this division. I have heard some-one say its Fulham 101 which we can beat and also heard Reading mentioned with 105, which we can'r. Can someone clear up the confusion please
  • Fulham is record for this tier, Reading is football league, 46 game record (completed in the 2nd tier)

Reading hold the record number of points in the Football League as they won the Championship in 2006 with 106 points. I believe Fulham hold the record for the third tier with 101 points.
  • Those stats are incredible.
  • Ok some-one tell Poweel - an extra way to motivate for the last 2 games. Two wins and we become the best ever team at this level
  • Best ever with 3 pts for a win over 46 games.

Would need to check before 1981 to be sure best ever.
  • Well done Shirty, an amazing season
  • If they had played 46 then at the same avergae they would have got 96! Told you it was a sad one!
    Cheers!
