No I think its gonna be something to make the UK proud yet again......mention of The Who appearing doing the rounds (not sure if true), a celebration of Britain and I guess a few surprises.....looking forward to it....however sad that the Olympics are ending...para's yet to come....but I think we can be proud of everything we have done....heard some foreign journo's being interviewed this morning...both said they thought best games ever...not bad coming from an Aussie and a Yank!!
750 million audience via TV expected. Lots of references to The Tempest throughout. Like this idea - themes of togetherness, being set free and forgiveness - if my A level memory is intact. Only 250 paid performers - nearly 4,000 volunteers and children from the boroughs. £80 million budget for all four ceremonies, £27 million for the opening, so I am guessing about £12 million- ish budget. Or 2 and a bit million per Spicey Girls on the grounds the British public never ever ever have to see them again. Bargain
After ceremony drinks and tit bits for the dignitaries and athletes where i work tonight. Im working the night shift . Hopefully get to see a few of the faces .
It will be great. I should know, Im in it! Cant really say more.
good luck tonight, hope it goes well....whatever your doing!!! Glad The Who are confirmed for tonight.....I'm really looking forward to it......starts at 9 pm on BBC1
I'm really looking forward to it as didn't see the Opening Ceremony on TV ..as we were there in person.Although it was a great experience , I believe we missed quite a lot without the commentary which explained certain aspects. We didn't realise , for instance, that the youngsters carrying the " metal thingys" as each team entered the arena were part of the cauldron that housed the Olympic flame. So, pros & cons, really.
Let the Closing Ceremony of the Greatest Show in the World commence....!

Might not be a bad idea if the opening ceremony was anything to go by.
