  • I can not see a win with a mid of the 4 from last season They could not dominate possesion or territory in league one if put under pressure; much too much space in the center A midfield five dropping Phillips, means you loose little and Stephens can hit the spaces Kermorgant makes

Both Green and Jackson can let the fbs overlap

Last season our defensive strength and lack of bite up front were key to our many 1-0 victories. I see no reason why SCP would want to deploy anything other than a winning formation. So same team, same 4-4-2, same 1-0 to the reds.
  • Hardest away fixture of the season and its up first

Brum to win this league imo
  • I think Lee Clark will know a lot more about Chris Powell's Charlton, that CP will know about how Birmingham will play under Clark. Hoping that our settled side will take advantage of their relegation hangover tho, but can't see it. 1-0 defeat :o(
  • Worlds longest hangover
  • I think we'll do okay. I'd be more worried if this was a Chris Hughton Birmingham but it isn't. Clark is a draw specialist and he's under more pressure to perform which will suit us.
Also think our team is better equipped for the CCC than what people give us credit for, hopefully a BWP goal or two as well to prove he can do it at this level.
  • It's gonna be super tough .... Powell is magic though... And he is now at a higher level ... His focus will be unwaving ... He will have these guys ready ... He obviously wants a few more in but we are where we are ....

  • Woken up ridiculously early but absolutely buzzing. Getting into Birmingham for 11am and heading straight to the pub for a few pints, then leaving the lads to it whilst I nip off to the bull ring to meet someone in a little tea room to talk about model rules for supporters trusts - which is a bit of a departure from my normal pre-match activities !

Can't wait for the game and to get behind the lads. A point would be welcome, three would be amazing but it's going to be very tough. There were games last season where we could pick up 3 points and not play well (the mark of champions etc) but that just won't be the case this year. We need to be 100% and that includes the fans. COYR.

http://wp.me/p1shH1-1Bw - stumbled across this match preview on twitter, it's from a Birmingham point of view but it's not a bad view.

Talks about some of their team issues, about a slow start they had against Barnet and actually seems quite respectful towards us - certainly not underestimating us!

Same author - http://wp.me/p1shH1-1Bt - a look at the referee for todays match. His last game was Crystal Palace 0 - 2 Southampton at Selhurst Park. I like him already, hopefully I like him just as much later on!

Im not sure if anyone has seen Crystal Palace's Goal of the Season; but it was a Darren Ambrowse screamer against Man U in a cup tie. I hope Hamer's laser surgery went well!
  • Can't see a win (in either of the first two games) so a draw will be a bonus and everyone will have to perform to get a point against Jasper Carrotts boys
3-1 to the brum I reckon

Couldn't get to sleep last night and I'm not even going. Good luck to all of you going up there and do us proud.

    COYR!!!!!!
  • 1-1. Ambrose for them, Jackson or BWP for us.
  • Birmingham the wc of England, long walk from station to ground stay safe guys.
Can some of the players step up agrade in divisions and keep the home crowd quite if we can do this it will help.
But feel at the moment will end up coming home pointless 2-0 defeat.
  • logic says that when Clarke was at Hudds we lost at their place, he now has better team so we should get slaughtered.

I travel in hope and 1-1 with bitten nails and less hair by 5pm
  • 4 hrs to go .... I've had too much coffee... Come on boys ...

    Nerves building ....

  • Weather will play a big part so may be down to who uses their subs best. 2-1 to us, last minute green winner off the bench

Off the bench ! Surely that would be a throw in ? ;0)

  • Weather is pretty pony at the minute
  • They might get a result against us today but don't think Birmingham will have a good season, i think Lee Clark is not that great of a manager especially when trying to win over drawing, plus we know which of are clubs has the talented young manager really.

Come on your reds, they are there for the taking!

  • Think we're going to score 4. Not sure about them. :)

Well if anyone's gonna try & score from a throw in it would be Green!!!!
  • St Andrew's never an easy game, been there a few times to see this clash, over the years.
They will regard it as a difficult match, (I know my mate from the blues has already told me so).
If we can get a goal I will be delighted. Outside the London clashes I would love to win this...... but think it is wishful thinking.
Good on those who have the faith, I hope we put a shift in and do our best.

  • I;ve just bet on Ambrose to score 1st and Brum to win 2-1, i feel dirty.. :( 60-1 tho
