but none of these songs have the sound I'm trying to describe - a single, deep bass note played on a woodwind instrument or possibly just a really low guitar chord - which is the predominant hook throughout the song :)
  • Is it similar to the bass on the BBC's Grand Prix theme (which I think is by Fleetwood Mac)? Just trying to get an idea of the chord.
  • I would guess walk on the wild side but assume you know that song.

    Herbie Hancock bass line

    Small Faces - Itchicoo Park?

It's not recognisable as a guitar chord like The Grand Prix theme - although it might be a fuzz bass or something & it's not a riff - just a single note that repeats at intervals throughout the song..

Pretend you are an Ocean Liner - make the noise the ships horn would make as it sets sail from the Quay Side - thats the sound of the repeating bass note March!

It's quite a well known song I think...

Not Walk On the Wild Side or Itchycoo Park.....

  • My guess would be Seaside Shuffle by Terry Dactyl and the Dinosaurs
