No it's a song I remember from years ago - definitely not obscure Canadian/US rubbish....I'm pretty sure the artist is British
Don't worry about it anymore - it's been driving me mad trying to find out who it is! Someone said & they are undoubtedly right, that we'll be underwhelmed by the answer....
Creepy I haves submitted the sketchy details I have on the song to that page....0 -
Thinking about it, The Beach Boys used quite a bit of brass and woodwind in their music, maybe one of their B-sides?0

Definitely thread of the week. C'mon, Rob is waiting to eat his van!0

This song kind of has the bass, but it's not the song - there is nothing reggae/calypso/ska about the one I am trying to recall...

Been down the pub for a couple of hours and spent most of the time a) still trying to spot the tune and b) wondering if someone else had got it and had won the all-expenses 2 week holiday in Canada. But yes, Son of My Father is the choice based on that video, although I seem to remember their follow-up single was almost an exact copy which is probably why it wasn't a hit.0
