I was walking down the road in Southwark a few years back when this short arse rocker type (with super fit rock chick on his arm) breezed past me. I thought "I know that geezer from somewhere...oh yeah...that's Carl from The Libertines".
I turned around and shouted "alright Carl" as loud as I could. He turned round, looked startled, then gave me the classic "thumbs up"! I love the Libs, but it was one of the most un rock n roll things I've ever seen!
Had a similar thing with Faris Whathisname from The Horrors a few weeks after he'd been beaten up in East London. He was walking towards me and a mate in Camden, I gave him an "alright Faris" and he absolutely shat himself and skipped to the other side of the pavement! Was very funny...
Saw david pleat in a traffic jam on the m25 last month wound the window down to have a cig gave him the nod bit of chit chat had a quick five mins on avb and then how good johnnie jackson is and if he had been blessed with sny amount of decent pace johnny wouldve been a international to 4 club player
i made a cup of tea for bruce forsyth but more bizarrely accidentally pulled decs (of ant and dec fame)swimming trunks halfway down in a cyprus swiming pool once
Leslie Phillips sitting behind me on a plane to Ibizia in the 90's (thought I recognised his voice). When I turned round to ask him if he was Leslie Phillips he said "Of course I am, dear boy"
Believe he lived in Spain for a while. Think he was born in hackney, true working class, and the local accent trained out of him.
Many years ago queuing up for popcorn at the cinema behind a tall black guy and a very short round girl wearing a leather jacket with "The Bitch is Back" written over the back. Cue lots of (not so) sotto voce comments about (when we were older) not allowing 'any daughter of mine' to wear such a jacket. After they were served they turned round and it was Lenny Henry and Dawn French....

I'd rather be in front of Dawn French in a popcorn queue
Forgot to say did aload of work in Paul oakenfold the dj's house he used to give me VIP tickets to various events that were sent to him in the hope he attended, took the misses to a few of them. His house was by marble arch two doors down from tony blair.
Certainly gone up in the world from when he lived in Greenhithe.
Back in the Mid 90's they was a line of warehouse style shops opposite ASDA in Charlton. One of which was a Toy store called The Jolly Giant. I was the assistant manager there for two years. One day, I heard loud laughing, swearing and shouting coming from one of the aisles and found a girl and a lad sword fighting with the toy swords. I yelled at them to pack it in and leave if they can't behave properly. It was only when they put the swords down and started to leave the shop, I saw it was Daniella Westbrook and Brian Harvey.
At Florence airport a few years ago, waiting on the transit bus Robert Kilroy-Silk tried to board as the doors were closing and he ended up being pinned between them
Joan Collins in Luxembourg BA airport lounge about 20years ago. Was wearing dark glasses and a fur coat trying to hide behind a newspaper whilst barking orders at her PA. Looking and acting every bit the diva.
I love Charlton Life, how a thread which last saw the light of day in November 2012 can be resurrected at the drop of a hat & nobody bats an eyelid & people just carry on posting like it was started yesterday!
6 or 7 years ago I was working in Chelsea. At the time terry venables and sol Campbell lived about 3 houses apart and I used to see them daily. Venables was always up for a chat and very friendly. Campbell not so much.
Bumped into Chrissy Powell a few weeks back as I was leaving Welling United's ground (after they'd beaten Truro) - he just said "alright lads" and looked in no mood to stop and chat. I don't know how much he appreciated me singing "Chrissy Powell, Chrissy Powell,..." as he marched ever quicker down towards Crook Log.
I also saw Blake Harrison (inbetweeners fame) on a rush hour train recently, with presumably his wife and baby - they got off at Bexleyheath.
Was having a pint on Charlotte Street and saw Dolph Lundgren open a car door and send a cyclist flying off his bike. Cyclist got up and headed to the car to have words. When Dolph got out of the car the cyclist shat his pants and apologized for getting in the way of his opening door.

I'm assuming Judas still lives there. True story, my best mate's wife works at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital in Paediatrics and he brought his daughter in one evening. She was admitted to one of the general kids wards and he threw his toys out of the pram, demanding a private room, special privileges claiming 'do you know who I am?' and she was the one who told him how it was and he raised a formal complaint against her. He's even less popular in their household than ever before now.
I bumped into Ramon Vega coming off the Eurostar back from Paris at St Pancras last year. His wife wasn't impressed when I stopped him for a selfie!
This may welll be further down this thread, but, I met John McVicar in 1990, when I walked for an Apple Mac dealer at the elephant, now the ministry of sound building. He was lecturing at south bank uni around the corner and was buying a mac plus. Once met and shared a train journey with DJ Mike Reid around the same time, had a good chat with him.

Even better than that - I met SCP at the dump on Factory Lane in Croydon. THAT was bizarre.

Sat next to Christian Erikson at a Lukas Graham concert back in March.
She was as rough as a badger's arse.
Terry Hollands is often out wandering in Dartford and I occasionally see him at lunchtimes
Saw Jason Donovan riding a bike on Oxford Street about 20 years ago
Sylvain Distin shopping in Harrods 3 or 4 years ago (christmas sales)

Shame it was out of focus!
