Was in the Woolwich Tesco today and Steve from Masterchef was there getting some chillies. He had headphones on so I touched his arm and said well done mate. Bless him he blushed and said thanks.

* Real name Reg Smith. When he first entered pop stardom, he was living in Kemsing Road, East Greenwich. He had one of those huge American cars with fins. It was always covered in messages from admiring fans written in lipstick. Must have been a right bastard to clean off!

Moved to Blackheath in the 60's near Johnny and Fanny Cradock. Sorry, most of you will probably never heard of them, lucky you

Used to deliver papers to their house on Blackheath when I was a kid.
Also reminds me that when I worked part time in a supermarket at Blackheath Standard, Stephen Lewis from On the Buses was a regular shopper.
Hardly a celebrity, but I saw that low life Kelvin Mackenzie having dinner in our hotel last night. I managed to resist the temptation to enquire as to how his search for alternative employment was progressing.

Did his strong preference for margarine become apparant ie " I hate you Butter!"
Not really a celebrity, but my club used to book an hour in the weights room of a gym in Walton on Thames. Levi Belfield and his body building mate would train there and be reluctant to leave when our session started, trying to pick a fight. One of our guys was always late, but he was 6'2" and 16 stone, his size, but been around. The coward soon scarpered.
On an aside, his mate Ricky was a shoe in as the accomplice in the Milly Dowler murder, one to subdue her and one to drive the van. Can't believe the police haven't done more.

Stephen Lewis lived close by in Westcombe Park Road, near The Chinese Embassy.
Was presented with the £10 prize for winning the village fete skittles by Theresa May. The bloke running the skittles had already paid me out. I wouldn't trust the tories to run the economy on that basis.
Met Charlton legend Colin Walsh in the rear car park at Asda Greenhithe years ago, he was doing a sports/fitness football promo, still got his mobile and home phone numbers as he agreed to do our end of season trophys at the lib club when we ran a football team.
