  • 1-0 England.

    Gomez involved in the goal.
  • 1-1, Gomez couldn't quite get a block in
  • England doing well. Much more mature physically than the Dutch lads.
  • The more I watch of Gomez the more I think of him. When he fills out he's going to be a premier league player no question.

Let's hope the first thing he fills out is a signing on form for us.
  • Pens
  • The world's two comedy penalty taking nations face off.

Comes looks a unit. Must be getting a run out next year
  • England WIN
  • We can take pens after all :)))
  • And that's why England u17's are my new team

  • Fantastic confidence when taking the pens! Wow! Well done boys.
  • Brilliant mention to Gomez who ran back and got a block in when a Dutch player was clean through on goal with only a couple of mins to play
  • I am biased, but I can't think of an England player in that final who played better than Gomez for the whole game.
  • Was that Steve Avory I saw as part of the management team out there? Certainly looked like him.
  • First time I have seen Joe Gomez. He is obviously very talented with a big future ahead but I would think he needs a couple of years further development including a L2 or L1 loan before getting near our first team. But I look forward to seeing him, hopefully, be a star for us in 2 or 3 years.
  • 2 days until he can sign a contract. I hope Roland is waiting at the airport for him!
  • He should be involved in our first team squad this season - no question. He's on Shelvey/Poyet level.

He's a future Premiership player IMO, we'll be lucky to keep hold of him. I really hope we can!
  • Excellent news now for U21s to follow suit!

Englands keeper Freddie Woodman is son of ex Charlton goalkeeper coach Andy Woodman

Agree about his potential but at the moment he's still a little weak in the air IMO, a big bully forward could knock a couple of stuffings out of him. I'd let him finish growing and start to fill out before we regularly play him like Poyet.

Tweeted him yesterday to congratulate on winning Under 17 tournement, and mentioned he should celebrate by signing a Charlton contract, he favourited the tweet hoping that means he wants to sign one lol

Paulie you should offer to highlight his hair if he signs on
  • Joe gomez birthday today.
Could be a crucial day for the club if we manage to get his signature. Have a horrible feeling he isn't staying though. Offered big bucks by Chelsea apparently
  • 9:30 and Gomez hasn't signed. PANIC.
  • Latest update. Yellow heart = yellow kit next season, signing for Watford?

  • 9:30 and Gomez hasn't signed. PANIC.

Then again he hasn't signed for anyone else!
    Or is that "mindless optimism"?!

  • Nearly lunchtime and still no news!!
  • Just watching a replay of final on EuroSport. Might be putting pressure on him but Gomez looks a really composed and tough centre back. Could he be a starter for us next season?
  • Anyone else concerned that he hasn't signed yet?
