I can see this ending in tears for Chelsea. Abramovich is a mega control freak who is losing the plot. I would hate it if we ended up like Chelsea. I can also see the same happening with Man City once the Mancini era ends. It's all about money and power I'm afraid and rips the heart out of teams.
Not sure why Chelsea fans our so angry about Benitez as short term replacement, he is a very good and shrewd manager, best manager Liverpool had in years.
Yes, all those League Titles he won.......oops.......
Very simplistic view of football and the world, more to being a great manager then just winning league titles, especially when the so called "big" clubs of the past have to compete with the megarich like Arsenal & Liverpool have both had to do compared to the Manchester clubs & Chelsea in recent seasons.
The thing is, if you're Guardiola, would you really want to risk your reputation and legacy as a manager to go and coach this freak show? Would you rather just say, "Thanks, but no thanks."
Money will probably talk in the end though and Guardiola will become the best paid manager in the history of football.
The last three years Benitez has had in management have been laughable. Why is that going to change? Inter Milan were Champions League and Serie Awinners when he took over from Mourinho.
When he got fired they were 6th and 15 points off top, only 4 months into the season.
"Benítez's spending was, eventually, significant, breaking Liverpool's transfer record when signing Spanish striker Fernando Torres from Atlético Madrid as well as signing Ryan Babel, Yossi Benayoun, Lucas Leiva and Andriy Voronin. Among those Benítez sold was Craig Bellamy, who was notably phased out of the first team following an altercation with John Arne Riise in the build up to Liverpool's remarkable victory over Barcelona in the Camp Nou en-route "
Lest we also forget selling Alonso, Aquillani and all that other shit he bought.

To be fair though, compared to the signings Dalglish made at Liverpool, Benitez looks like a bloody genius!
