Anyone been to The Sail Loft, the new Fullers "pub" in Greenwich. I think having the Food tab before the Drink tab on the website sums it up for me. I haven't been but will, although I must say doesn't look my cup of tea really. I'm sure it will do very, very well though.
In relation to the Copperfield in Catford, looks like it might reopen towards then end of this year - http://www.catfordtavern.com/
Still furious that the Deptford Arms on Deptford High Street, which appeared to be thriving, is now a Paddy Power. Deptford High Street has been absolutely ruined by bookies, there's more than 10 of them there now.

A pal of mine says The Sail Loft comprises two floors and a riverside terrace, and is bland in the typically modern bar style; surprisingly for a Fuller's tied house it doesn't have ESB on handpull. The Park Tavern in Eltham was as convivial as usual after the debacle on Saturday: St Austell Tribute in top nick. I hope you are continuing to thrive at The Long Pond, Riviera.

I used to live in the Royal Archer as kid. Was a Millwall pub on Saturdays, brimming with filth.
The Paper Moon in Dartford has closed down, Used to go in there for a few beers at lunchtime before the management meeting on a Friday afternoon. Wetherspoons still have the flying boat in the town.
Very sad news about the Paper Moon - there was a petition to keep it open with 600 names on it. A pub I used to frequent closed about 2 years ago and one of the regulars talked about raising a petition to keep that open but he'd have been lucky to get more than 6 signatures - there were only ever 3 or 4 people in there.
Knocked down, turned into bookmakers or tiny, overpriced flats. Modern England can piss off.
Am I doing something wrong? I can only see two lines of text under each pub picture, I get "...it was closed following a planning..." and can't read any more?

I used to drink in there with a few scum mates before we played them, when they were still at the old dump.

The missus used to go to the Greyhound, Sydenham to watch Vic and Bob before they were famous.

Will there be another pub where the Paper Moon was?
It is very poncy. Popped in. Look at the bar in the gallery. It is tiny and more than six people is a crowd. Badly designed. There is a wasted area in the centre which is like a pantry.
It is a restaurant mainly. Not somewhere I'll be going for a drink.
Strange that they want the Royal Bell as they've got the Railway at Bromley North just round the corner.
haven't been in there since they've taken it over. do they still have bands on?
I believe so but the place is so poncy now. It's best time was pre bands with Arthur and his wife as the landlord when everyone barred from the Swan would drink there.
Anyone know what's going on with The Cranbrook near St John's Station? Been boarded up for a few weeks now. Bit of a dump before it closed, lovely building though. Too much to hope that it reopens as a good pub, rather than some flats or a sterile, pretentious organic paté bar?

Might go one night after work so I can be the first ever person to get off at that station.

Beaten you to it, I used to be THE daily user until a couple of months ago. Must be the only station in London with a free car park, albeit only with 7 spaces.

It's been boarded up for months now. Was very strange inside.

Just re-reading James Bannon's book about the mill-wall 'ooligans.
Okay, a lot is exaggerated, but, a lot of pubs mentioned, but, apparently, changed because of libel laws.
The Puffin ?
Dover ?
The Depot ?
And more........
Any ideas which is which ?

So, how's it all going? Everything you expected and hoped, or do you miss the old life when you were the other side of the ramp?
