That's a 20% wage cut, not 20% of their wages incidentally. A bit disappointed the players didn't accept it really, if they think they'll walk into other clubs at a decent salary level, they'll be sadly disappointed
As an aside, I've never entirely understood the financial logic of players in the NL all being full time. Unless you have a sugar daddy, I don't see how the vast majority of teams can afford it
Agreed. I get that players have mortgages and bills like most people, but it seems a crazy decision.
Unless Dover have any really good players then surely they won’t get 80% of what they’re on at their next club in the current financial climate. So wouldn't they be better off accepting a 20% cut and helping to prevent the club from potentially going bust in a few weeks?
Difficult to go PT when you could be playing up north midweek though? Dover v Gateshead for example
Historically teams at that level were more often than not part time. Things have only changed due to a glut of former L2 sides and the rise of moneybags clubs in non league football buying success.
Harrogate are going to have to start their League Two season @ Doncaster as they're having to replace their 3G pitch with a grass one
Bit of a shame in a way - Remember hearing a radio interview with the Sutton Manager on the way home from a Charlton game a few seasons ago (when they themselves looked like getting into the Football League), he mentioned it was a double edged sword for them and that they wouldnt be too sad about missing out on promotion as their 3G pitch does so much more for the community as they're able to hire it out during the week etc.

Harrogate's crowds are shocking as it is, it would have been interesting to see how many would have gone to Doncaster.
Have to admit I dont see much issue with 3G pitches these days
Seems to be something that has evolved yet because the Football League has bad history with it are reluctant to even entertain it again
Bit like safe standing
Been to Bromley a few times and the pitch plays very well, it's miles ahead of the original plastic pitch at QPR.
Also isn't the rule that if a club wins the league and refuses promotion, i.e. the cost of replacing the pitch, then they get demoted one or two divisions.
National League grounds have to be up to league standards then why allow them plastic pitches if they have to replace them if they get promoted.
Just heard FA put out new guidance over crowd size - not sure what it means. Was planning to go to Crockenhill vs Paddock Wood tomorrow
Are those games allowing fans then
Test venues were suspended last week, which is why the crucible is now behind closed doors, so I assumed all football would naturally revert to behind closed doors for the next 2 weeks and then it would be re looked at

It was going to be allowed as all non league step 7 and below are. However, just heard that it’s noW behind closed doors. Or in Crockenhill’s case, behind rusty gate.
Bury AFC have done the right thing in setting up their own team
Bury FC's application to join a League has been rejected by the FA, the reasons given are quite understandable; Bury dont have a Manager or Players so the FA dont think they'll be ready for the new season
Embarrassing really when you consider that Bury AFC got setup later and have got all this organised!!...

Confused, was there to be 2 Bury clubs? Surely not.
I thought Bury AFC were all set for the new season.

Bury AFC are all good to go... They're a completely different entity setup by the fans - the original Bury under Steve Dale also wanted to rejoin the League somewhere
The Leagues and FA will kill off their own clubs, if they force them to play without any match-day income. It will be a pretty quick process too because there aren't too many non-league clubs with the cash reserves to last out. Mental.

Unfortunately clubs seem reluctant to come together and do the right thing for the overall collective when its not to their own benefit

Sutton supporters know that they will not see their club play in League 2 unless they take up their pitch.

Konch also works as West Ham's loan manager, so presumably will have been in contact with Cullen regularly
