Arsenal fans

  • Football fans are very fickle, it is not just Arsenal fans. There are some Charlton fans who want Powell out when we lose, but they are quiet when we win.
  • Bunch of arrogant pricks, always have been.

So many "fans" watching them in the pub acting like they're loyal fans, when in reality they've never been to a game in their life and never intend to.

    Wankers!
  • Come on the Arsenal.
    image

As a group, I'd say both of the North London teams have pathetic support. Always seem like complete cowards, when there's a bit of adversity they go quiet or whine. Impressive numbers, but it would be interesting to see where they would land up if they had a bit of adversity.
  • i'm sure most of these said arsenal fans would go a lot more if it was £300 for a season ticket or £50 for their u-11 for a season ticket or it was easy enough to turn up on the day and buy a ticket for £25 but it isn't at arsenal and thats the difference

don't forget their vocal minority is a lot bigger than ours and naturally people would rather hear what arsenal fans view of their club is than what our fans view of Charlton is and the odd freak at our place wanted Curbs gone and SCP on his way

I hate the way we think we're superior as supporters cos we support a chuffy club as opposed to a successful one, we have a few fans that hardly ever go as well but that's ok cos we're crap ..... they have a lot more fans who can hardly go but that's because they are a much bigger club and it's not as simple or as cheap to go see the odd game at arsenal

All small clubs are like that. Every palace away game this season you can hear the hilarious small time chant "we support our local team" yet their rivals play in Sussex...

I think you also get "glory avoiders" who get their enjoyment out of supporting a team who rarely wins.

As for the likes of arsenal etc. I wouldn't pay £50 for a game of football as I don't enjoy it that much.
  • Also: I f***ing hate it when their fans refer to them at THE Arsenal.

    Piss off will you!!
  • But atleast the pansies from white heart lane don't say

    The tottenham

Who the feck do arsenal fans think they are putting the word The in front of their two bob muggy club

Even the media call them it ffs

That's an entirely rational reason to hate a club !!
  • anyone else see the Bexleyheath Gunners flag at the Dortmund game last night!
  • cant stand them really cant rank behind palace and millwall on hating list
  • cant stand them really cant rank behind palace and millwall on hating list

I have them inbetween millwall and palace. They're the club who people who don't like football.
  • Tottenham fans are much much worse.

  • Is it really only me who has suddenly started to get annoyed by them?

Mainly because nearly every single one I know wanted Wenger out a day before he signed Ozil, and felt the same way when they lost opening day to Villa. Now they've completely changed their tune. Oh, and not one attends matches (of the ones I know). They're starting to sound like the Man United tossers; and that's never good.

I may be on my own though...

I dont get the point of the post? Weren't they annoyed as Wenger had millions in the bank but he wouldn't spend it. They lost opening game of the season and the fans vented frustration that they wanted to sign top quality players rather then young upcoming players like Yaya Sanogo.

For years they lost their best players rather then build a team round them. Wenger went out, bought Ozil and the team start performing. Thats what the fans wanted so obviously they are behind the manager now.
  • To be fair, all the Ars*nal supporters I know are fairly level headed and most of them never wanted Wenger to leave, a few did though.

Every club have got some muppets. We've got a few wanting AVB out and Harry brought back because we're not playing attractive football. Like WTF? 7 clean sheets in 10 PL games, 13 clean sheets in 17 competitive games this season, only beaten three times since March and people are still bloody complaining. When we finally get out of second gear which we seem to have been stuck in since Christmas, we'll be flying.

Oh, and I'm considered an arm chair fan now as I just cant justify spending £48 to go and watch Spurs when I can quite happily watch most of the games on TV or on an internet stream. I've been to two games this season, will be going to the West Ham COC game just before Christmas as it will be our little group's Christmas drink up but that'll likely be it for me unless my mate who works for Spurs throws some freebies my way. Being an arm chair fan doesnt affect my judgment no matter how much anyone likes to think it does. I'm still a club member, I'm still a member of the independent supporters trust, I'm still an active supporter. Not as much as I'd like to be but a supporter none the less.

Tell you what, I must be getting old or soft in the head but think Wenger deserves a bloody knighthood for putting up with all of the sh*t he's had to take last few years for Ars*nal to finally click like they have. Still cant stand him though lol. Christ, am I coming down with a temperature?

And as for Spurs being the Sheffield Wednesday of London, that made me choke on my tea.

for me they remind me of sheffield wednesday this massive club that has the right to win every cup and league every season, they just dissapoint fair play they qualify for europe most years but whats the point, i also find there fans extremely bitter and two faced. and having been to arsenal vs spurs at the emirates it made our atmosphere against millwall look electric.
  • ãSpurs fans are the biggest supporters group in the world when they lose as you can not listen to a phone in as its all spuds moaning

Granpa. Maybe you should use your values on the hatred of these threads in your viewsns on eastern europeans and the immigration issues that you get so riled about as I am sure they love their kids etc

Arsenal fans are no good muggy Àdd what ever expletives you want but end it in c^^ts
  • My general assessment of Arsenal fans based on many that I have met is that they don't actually know much about football and are very arrogant about their team. That said there a few good ones amongst them.

Don't like Arsenal and always call their support s**t for being incapable of making any noise and out sung at home every game, would love an away FA Cup tie there!

likewise we would get about 6000 aswell if we wanted it maybe even more, every year i hope for it but oh no.... hudds again

  • If you break their 'support' down, you have:

    1. Genuine fans who attend matches
    2. Genuine fans who don't attend matches
    3. Glory hunters who attend matches
    4. Tourists who attend matches
    5. Glory hunters who don't attend matches

The more you charge the greater the expectation (style / success).

Feel sorry for you. Your club has let you down by charging too much in my opinion. You are still a supporter but yeah, an armchair one. Why don't you start going to games at a club that wants you, one that will charge you an affordable amount for a ticket. JB come out of the darkness of North London and into the warmth of The Valley.

What is a West Ham COC game?

For those that asked why The Arsenal, it was their name at one point.
  • Arsenal fans I know are decent people but cannot see the good in any other club. They are so bias it is often laughable. I think one of them told me that messi wouldnt get in their team once.

    COC = Capital One Cup.

Tbh, its not just money. Weekends are really are a thing of the past these days. I only get to see my daughter at weekends so its about priorities as well. Midweek games are much more manageable.

  • Like others have said all clubs have them. Not just Arsenal.

Not wishing to add to your pain JohnBoy, but you can see why he said it....! Its the ones who ring in to the phone-ins who show you up with comments like "we should be beating teams like that " and worst of all "the Tottenham way..."! Actually I know a couple of armchair Spurs fans who are absolutely good blokes. Spurs rarely have any spare tickets on sale so they are bound to have armchair fans cos it's not like the Valley where you can get a pint into a quart pot!

Come on down to our next Tuesday game JB, you might like it.
  • I've started to dislike Arsenal fans a great deal over the years, mainly due to the ones I know and the crap they talk. It goes on and on and on, the same nonsense but the only games they go to are the Emirates Cup! At the start of the season they were unhappy and Wenger needed to go, same as last year actually, and now he's a genius with the best transfer policy the world has ever seen. They're going to win every possible trophy because Ozil has turned up.

What happens with Giroud, Ramsey or Ozil get injured?
  • Don't mind Arsenal, enjoy watching them play. Spurs are a bit too big for their boots, but I can just about put up with them. Have some decent history and some proper fans.

Hate hate hate Chelsea and all their mouthy fans. The old fans (before cash) are just Millwall types, the new ones don't have a clue and only watch (mainly on TV, hence the empty seats) because it's trendy. Then there are the ones who used to support Man U/Liverpool etc who swapped allegiance when Chelsea started doing well.

Nothing to like about that club at all.
  • They are playing good football and confidence is high, of course a few fans are gonna come out the woodwork. F**k me, we had 10,000 of them when we were in the prem!
  • I know a lot of Arsenal supporters from my previous job. The idea of buying a season ticket, and then 'renting' it on eBay for any game against a bottom half side just doesn't make sense to me.

They really are arrogant and narrow minded. Anything outside of the top 4 of the Premier League just doesn't enter into their perspective.

Same can be said even more so of Chelsea fans though, some of which claim to be 'embarrassed' or 'ashamed' of winning the Europa League! Wankers!

I would class them as plastics though Tom, the same as some Charlton 'fans' that are embarrassed or not interested in us playing in the Champ or even L1 but no doubt still have an opinion when they are down the pub with mates.
  • How can you hate Arsenal more than Palace?

Know more arsenal fans than any other club, some sth, some armchair.

Seem a fairly realistic set of fans tbh, if I was a fan I would probably be pissed off at not winning anything for 7 years because they are probably one if the top 5/6 clubs in Europe on fan base
  • The plasterer I had in recently was an Arsenal fan and he was totally against losing Wenger. To some extent his reaction was the same as some of us with regard to Chris Powell, who would be any better?
Arsenal helped our nascent existence when they b*ggered off to Scotland (well norf ov ver rivver is as good as Scotland to me).
However the one thing that is darkly sour about Arsenal is their boast about their unbroken run in the top flight, when they shouldn't have won promotion when they did (I will leave you to look it up, but it involved doing the dirty on Tottenham).
If they have any real style and class they should get themselves relegated immediately, and win promotion on the football field like the rest of us. A bit like playing a free kick back to the keeper after an oppo player is injured.
So fundamentally and philosophically, and spiritually, and intellectually and by the rules Arsenal have been in a false position for their whole run in the top flight. I conclude therefore they have no real class, and are not fit actually to wipe the a*se of Charlton Athletic.
Oh and SCP is a Tottenham fan.
  • Arsenal have always struck me as a 'proper' football club with a great history - if Charlton disappeared then I would naturally gravitate towards following them (partly also for geographical reasons).

Also notable that their fans don't seem to cause any trouble wherever they go.
  • Don't mind Arsenal.

I've very little 'hate' in me, and 99% of it is reserved for somewhere else.
